Dear Saligaonkars
Saligao village is considered as the most beautiful village . I really appreciate when people say they love to build a house in saligao. What I really admire most is the shortsightedness of the people living in saligao. Did one realise that our roads are too narrow ? The industries in Pilerne has made our roads busy and congested but I am surprised that most of the people of Saligao have kept quiet and even when I who has become a Mapusekar just because I have bought a flat over there point out to those living in saligao they just prove helpless . I am also surprised that our transformers have become rusty and the way the electricity wires are pulled they are sure to come down. I heard people saying that the voltage is so low that they sometimes do not even know whther they have electrical lamps or kerosene lamps. Whose duty is to see to all these ? Saligaonkars are the most educated lot and I am sure most of the houses have computers but do these computers work properly due to low voltage ? I am sure the telephones too do not work. Many people have changed their phones to tata and reliance. I find many of our saligaonkars standing patiently in que to pay their telephone bills. The same can be paid through electronic clearing system through the bank . Often people tell me that they do not have enough balance in the bank. I do not know whteht I should cry or laugh.
Albert
