NTT ICC: reopen on june 6

dear all,

this is yukiko shikata of NTT InterCommunication Center[ICC].

ICC, which has been closed from the beginning of this year,
will finally reopen on june 6.

the press release(in japanese) on this will be out this week,
so i am able to inform this to you the situation:

-the center will open with permanent exhibition space(to be
changed every year) with admission free, expecting broader
audiences and repeaters.

-in paralell will have temporary programs, such as a series of
symposium in june, "kids' program" in july-aug, for free.

-the first curated exhibition will start in mid september.
(this will be charged at the entrance).

sorry for keeping silence on the ICC situation, after the discussion
in this list last year...there were many internal issues to be cleared
inside of the big company, and we curators had to first wait how
situation turns.

now the company agreed to keep on ICC, thanks to the various
support and discussion inside and outside of japan.
it was very important for the company recognized that ICC takes
an important role in the media art and cultural scene beyond countries.

i hope ICC will be one of the cultural nodes for the people to come,
meet and start something by themselves for the future.
