Dear Urban Screens

Please see our latest opportunity.............................

Call for Submissions:

Big Screen Birmingham is a 25 square metre video screen with full sound system situated in Chamberlain Square, with an estimated daily footfall of 125,000 people. The Birmingham screen broadcasts 24 hours a day, with sound muted at night
BBC programming supports a locally-generated mix of news, information, films and other creative arts, as well as acting as a digital gathering point for local, national and international events.

During 2005 Big Screen Birmingham showed over 700 hours of film, consisting of 135 individual pieces created by local producers. In the 2006 the screen aims to surpass what they achieved during the previous year.

On the 6th May 2006 the screen launches its 2nd Summer Film Festival, which will run through to the end of June. Big Screen Birmingham is on the lookout for new films to include within this year's Film Festival, welcoming films of all genres. However, they can be no longer than 30 minutes in length and should be submitted in mini-DV format.
Submissions are selected by the Big Screen Manager, Geraldine McCullagh and the resident Film Curator, Jo Willis.

Selected material will be screened for a minimum period of four weeks as part of a 30 - 45 minute programme that runs six times a day on Big Screen Birmingham: Monday - Friday at 10am, 12pm, 3.30pm, 5.15pm, 7pm and 10.35pm, and at various times throughout the weekend. NB. This schedule is subject to change.
