I don't have any mind-shattering discoveries from there-
but some neat ones, and I may draw on their collection of
visionaries for assistance with some of the projects I'm
helping out with.

I also saw that someone with a nbtsc address
(http://nbtsc.org) subscribed to the list (referrer logs?)
which is exciting to me because I found that group and sort
of so idealize what they do but somewhat despair of ever
being a part of what it seems they get to be a part of (that
is an exaggeration- I seem to have quite a lot of inspiring
encounters to keep me busy- yoism is one example--
real-life, face-time may be the difference. I do wonder what
it would be like to be at nbtsc. The community web site

does a decent job of giving an idea. I'm not sure how I'd do
there (if I were to become under 18 again), but it is neat
to hear about.

here are some notes from Starhawk's _truth or dare_
which (at least the first 80 pages) is a good antidote to
what Jensen leaves his reader with-

p 75 "Creating your own reality" is a New Age watchword, but
many of those who espouse it really mean "take the best of
what the system has to offer for yourself"--an option open
only to a few of the more privileged among us. But to

systems based on different values, is a far more demanding,
dangerous, and revolutionary task.

p 79 Awareness is the beginning of all resistance

When we rebel without challenging the framework of reality
the system has constructed, we remain trapped. Our choices
are predetermined for us.

increase the system's control

p 83 to defy reality is not the same as to change it

Awareness, emotions, are not enough.

For acts of resistance against systems that destroy us are
ultimately acts of survival, creation, and nurture.

resistance is the refusal to be negated by systems of
control.
