Putin and the Earth

Reading the news these days I’ve come to the conclusion that what Putin does is not only inadmissible but also unbelievable.

He kneels down the natural reserves of Russia at the US’ feet, tramples over Kyoto protocol and puts at the World Bank’s disposal Russia’s finances.

All these in exchange of a mere paper called WTO membership, in exchange of being accepted in the high circles of the lopsided globalised World we have now found ourselves living in.

The only one who could oppose IN TIME to the irreversible destruction of the planet, who could temper a bit the US’ and China’s insane thirst for the Earth’s blood,
out of fearfulness, or thinking that he will play cards for ever,
has instead chosen to fall into the arms of the US and to take down with him not only the Russian people, whose life he shortens with each barrel of oil irrationally sold, but the life of the whole planet.

In the middle of the hugest energy crisis this planet has ever bore, Putin dreams of empires built on geometrically increasing energy supplies.

Instead of focusing on arming himself to the teeth and on IMPOSING his inner will on how the Russian oil and gas should be exploited, while TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION crucial matters as the global warming, he proves agreeing with every American model, whether it is called G8, WTO or the Asia Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate.

His fascination for the American model, because it must be some kind of fascination and not just a masochist impulse, pushes him taking incredibly reckless decisions that will affect every corner of this planet.

Whether this is a pre-WTO admission scenario or the naked reality, some truth must be in this story. The BTC is right there to confirm that.

Playing with the World energy and moving it from a basket to another by circular permutations (see Venezuela-Georgia and now the new deal: Russia supplying the US’ oil strategic reserve in exchange for Venezuela), won’t mess up the US’ head, no matter how much he would like to believe it.

The empty rhetoric, if he thinks he now plays this kind of game, will at some point have to be translated into FACTS, just like it happened with the papers Yeltsin has recklessly left inheritance to the leaders to come and with which Putin struggles now.

Allow me to have my doubts that there is a secret feasible alternative source of energy that just awaits for the mankind in the backstage to replace the oil and gas when they will be over.
Only under these circumstances Putin’s haste of selling Russia’s resources could be justified.

However, if the miraculous perpetum mobile is there awaiting for us, how come the US, at this time, doesn’t concentrate its efforts on perfecting the device and instead hunts dead causes like the oil and the natural gas reserves all over the World?

The problem with Putin is that he proved, proves and will continue to prove a weak individual and hence an improper and not very constructive leader.

He will quietly continue to hold the train of the US’, despite all the mockery and the hurdles the US has caused to him and to the Russian people over the years, for as long as the dying Earth will allow him to play this terrorist fantasist game.

Dreaming that the Earth is a milk cow is the grossest utopia I’ve ever heard, as well as hoping that humanoids will be able to soothe their more and more insane thirst for energy with the solar warmth.

In no more than two generations, after Putin’s legacy will have ended and the Russian natural reserves (the last the Earth has had in its shell for us) will have been drained out, the Russian people will find itself in a Saudi Arabian type of desert, figuratively speaking, of course, while the Earth will prove nothing but a non-functional entity, at least as far as the human race’ needs concern.

The Earth and its Holy Administrator could not even have the patience to wait for this moment, but might choose putting an end to all the storms, the draughts and the pains of agony this so-called “modern World” enforced by America has made this planet to cry out.

An end that, with a wise and responsible approach of the World’s problems, could’ve been postponed with a few decades at least.
