Cheney's 'Spoon-Benders' Pushing Nuclear Armageddon by Jeffrey Steinberg

Sometime in late 1980, then-Col. Paul E. Vallely, the Commander of the 7th Psychological Operations Group, United States Army Reserve, Presidio of San Francisco, Ca., co-authored a discussion paper, which received wide and controversial attention within the U.S. military, particularly within the Special Operations community. The paper was titled "From PSYOP to MindWar: The Psychology of Victory," and it presented a Nietzschean scheme for waging perpetual psychological warfare against friend and enemy populations alike, and even against the American people.

The "MindWar" paper was provoked by an article by Lt. Col. John Alexander, which appeared in the December 1980 edition of Military Review, advocating the introduction of ESP (extra-sensory perception), "tele-pathetic behavior modification," para-psychology, psychokinesis ("mind over matter"), remote viewing, out of body experiences, and other New Age and occult practices into U.S. military intelligence. Alexander's paper was titled "The New Mental Battlefield: Beam Me Up, Spock."

But the subsequent paper co-authored by Vallely went way beyond ESP and the other paranormal techniques advocated by Alexander: "Strategic MindWar must begin the moment war is considered to be inevitable," the document stated. "It must seek out the attention of the enemy nation through every available medium, and it must strike at the nation's potential soldiers before they put on their uniforms. It is in their homes and their communities that they are most vulnerable to MindWar....

"To this end," Vallely and co-author continued, "MindWar must be strategic in emphasis, with tactical applications playing a reinforcing, supplementary role. In its strategic context, MindWar must reach out to friends, enemies, and neutrals alike across the globe?neither through primitive 'battlefield' leaflets and loudspeakers of PSYOP nor through the weak, imprecise, and narrow effort of psychotronics?but through the media possessed by the United States which have the capabilities to reach virtually all people on the face of the Earth. These media are, of course the electronic media?television and radio. State of the art developments in satellite communication, video recording techniques, and laser and optical transmission of broadcasts make possible a penetration of the minds of the world such as would have been inconceivable just a few years ago. Like the sword Excalibur [King Arthur's magical sword?ed.], we have but to reach out and seize this tool; and it can transform the world for us if we have the courage and the integrity to enhance civilization with it. If we do not accept Excalibur, then we relinquish our ability to inspire foreign cultures with our morality. If they can then desire moralities unsatisfactory to us, we have no choice but to fight them on a more brutish level.

"MindWar must target all participants to be effective. It must not only weaken the enemy; it must strengthen the United States. It strengthens the United States by denying enemy propaganda access to our people, and by explaining and emphasizing to our people the rationale for our national interest in a specific war."

Leaving nothing to the imagination, the document concluded by emphasizing that MindWar should employ subliminal brainwashing technologies, and weapons that directly attack the targetted population's central nervous system and brain functioning: "There are some purely natural conditions under which minds may become more or less receptive to ideas, and MindWar should take full advantage of such phenomena as atmospheric electromagnetic activity, air ionization, and extremely low frequency waves," the paper concluded.

The "MindWar" paper was disturbing, for reasons beyond its fascistic and occultist content. For one thing, Colonel Vallely's co-author was a PSYOP Research & Analysis Team Leader named Maj. Michael A. Aquino. Five years before the circulation of the MindWar paper, Special Forces Reserve officer Aquino had founded the Temple of Set, a Satanic organization which was the successor to Anton Szandor LeVay's Church of Satan. Aquino would soon be grabbing headlines, which persisted throughout the 1980s, as a leading suspect in a nationwide Satanic pedophile ring, that particularly targetted daycare centers on such military bases as Fort Bragg and the Presidio.

Furthermore, Vallely and Aquino's MindWar scheme is remarkably similar to the Total Information Awareness (TIA) program launched by the Donald Rumsfeld Pentagon, under the direction of Irangate figure Adm. John Poindexter. Ostensibly, the Total Information Awareness global propaganda and mega-data-mining plan was scrapped after a series of negative news stories, but Pentagon sources have reported that the program was merely "taken into a black box."

Indeed, on Aug. 16, 2005, The New York Times' Philip Shenon revealed that a super-secret Pentagon "special action program" called Able Danger had tracked Mohammed Atta and three of the other Sept. 11, 2001 hijackers a year prior to the attacks; but Pentagon lawyers with the Special Operations Command refused to allow the information to be shared with the FBI, for fear of exposing the data-mining program to any public scrutiny. The Times learned of Able Danger from Lt. Col. Anthony Schaffer, who was the program's liaison to the Defense Intelligence Agency at the time.

'Nuke Iran!'

Colonel Vallely's association with Aquino did little to stall the former's military career advancement. A West Point graduate, Vallely retired in 1991 as deputy commanding general of the U.S. Army of the Pacific. From 1982-86, he headed the 351st Civil Affairs Command, placing him in charge of all Special Forces, Psychological Warfare, and Civil Affairs Military units in the Western United States and Hawaii.

Today, he is practicing what he and Satanist Aquino preached in the MindWar paper, and is one of the leading propaganda assets in Vice President Dick Cheney's push for military confrontation with Iran?one that could see the United States carry out the first pre-emptive nuclear attack in history.

General Vallely, now retired from the military, is a senior military commentator for Rupert Murdoch's shrill Fox TV News; is a "client" of Benador Associates, the premier public relations firm for the neo-conservative cabal in Washington; is the Military Committee chairman for Frank Gaffney's neo-conned Center for Strategic Policy; and is the co-founder, along with Gen. Thomas McInerney (USAF-ret.), another Benador client, of the Iran Policy Committee. IPC is yet another neo-con front group that: 1) promotes the Mujahideen-e-Khalq (MEK), a group on the State Department's list of International Terrorist Organizations (for assassinating a number of U.S. military officers in Iran); and 2) demands U.S. military action to impose "regime change" 1n Tehran, through such measures as a massive bombing campaign against Iran's purported secret nuclear weapons labs, and a U.S. Naval blockade of the Straits of Hormuz. Recently General Vallely co-authored a book with General McInerney, titled Endgame?Blueprint for Victory for Winning the War on Terror, which borrows, philosophically, from his and Aquino's original MindWar rant.

The 'Jedi Warriors'

General Vallely, Colonel Alexander, and Lt. Colonel Aquino (ret.) are but three leading figures within the Special Operations community, who have promoted the application of New Age and outright Satanic practices to the art of war, conducting experimental programs aimed at creating a Nietzschean "Übermensch warrior."

In preparation for this article, EIR has interviewed a number of senior retired military and intelligence officers, who have identified, from their own personal experiences, a number of other leading military officers who promoted these efforts and funnelled massive amounts of Pentagon money into "black programs," testing the military applications of a whole range of bizarre "non-lethal" techniques and technologies. Some of the top-secret programs funded by taxpayer dollars over the past 25 years betray a significant degree of outright "spoon-bending" lunacy. Others lead directly to the doorsteps of Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib military detention centers, where prisoners have been turned into human guinea pigs for experimental torture techniques, drawn from the same New Age bag of tricks.

And The New Yorker magazine investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, in a Jan. 24-31, 2005 article on "The Coming Wars," mooted that the Special Forces "black programs" may now have ventured into the field of "pseudo-gang warfare," in which counterinsurgency methods blur with insurgency.

Quoting from a September 2003 San Francisco Chronicle article by Naval Postgraduate School defense analyst and Pentagon counterinsurgency advisor John Arquilla, Hersh hinted that U.S. Special Forces units were being unleashed to create their own terrorist "pseudo gangs" to more easily infiltrate terrorist groups like al-Qaeda. Arquilla wrote: "When conventional military operations and bombing failed to defeat the Mau Mau insurgency in Kenya in the 1950s, the British formed teams of friendly Kikuyu tribesmen who went about pretending to be terrorists. These 'pseudo gangs,' as they were called, swiftly threw the Mau Mau on the defensive, either by befriending and then ambushing bands of fighters or by guiding bombers to the terrorists' camps. What worked in Kenya a half-century ago has a wonderful chance of undermining trust and recruitment among today's terror networks. Forming new pseudo gangs should not be difficult."

Arquilla added, for good measure: "If a confused young man from Marin County can join up with al-Qaeda [a reference to John Walker Lindh, the so-called American Talibani?ed.], think what professional operatives might do."

The 'Gang of Four'

Four of the names most often cited as promoters of programs like the "Goat Lab," the "Jedi Warriors," "Grill Flame," "Task Force Delta," and the "First Earth Battalion," have held top posts within the military intelligence and Special Operations commands:

Gen. Albert Stubblebine III was the head of U.S. Army Intelligence, INSCOM (Intelligence and Security Command), from 1981-84, during which time he launched a series of secret projects at Fort Meade, Md., involving remote viewing and other occult practices. General Stubblebine was, perhaps, the U.S. Army's most senior and loudest advocate of the full gamut of New Age warfare.

Gen. Peter Schoomaker, the current U.S. Army Chief of Staff, was Commanding General of the Joint Special Operations Command (1994-96), Commander of the United States Army Special Operations Command (1996-97), and Commander in Chief of the United States Special Operations Command (1997-2000). According to a well-researched book exposing the New Age penetration of the U.S. military, The Men Who Stare at Goats, by Jon Ronson (Simon & Schuster, New York, 2004), General Schoomaker has created a think-tank, under the sponsorship of the Army Chief of Staff office, to expand the application of these bizarre occult and para-normal operations throughout the U.S. Army, as his contribution to President George W. Bush's Global War on Terrorism (GWOT).

Gen. Wayne Downing also was the Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Special Operations Command, and earlier directed all special operations during the December 1989 invasion of Panama, when some of the MindWar techniques were used, during the siege of the Vatican compound where Gen. Manuel Noriega had taken refuge. Following the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, Downing was named National Director and Deputy National Security Advisor for Combatting Terrorism in the Bush-Cheney White House, a post he held until June 2002.

According to military sources, General Downing left the White House as the result of a conflict with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, over plans for the invasion of Iraq. Downing had argued that Saddam Hussein could be overthrown by a massive "shock and awe" bombing campaign, followed by an invasion by a force of no more than 25,000 Special Forces troops. The "Downing Plan" was rejected by the Chiefs as "sheer madness," according to one senior military source familiar with the events.

Gen. William "Jerry" Boykin was the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, N.C., from 1998-2000. Prior to that, he was the Commander of the elite counter-terror unit, Delta Force, from 1992-95. He was, in that capacity, in charge of the Special Forces units in Mogadishu, Somalia, during the famous 1993 "Black Hawk Down" incident, in which a number of Special Forces soldiers were beaten to death by warlords, and dragged through the streets of the city. Here, some of Lt. Col. John Alexander's non-lethal systems, including "Sticky Foam," were directly put to the combat test?and failed. From March 2000 until June 2003, General Boykin headed the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center. He was then named Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence, a post he still holds. According to The New Yorker piece by Hersh, Boykin and his immediate boss, Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence Stephen Cambone, are directly in charge of the Special Operations search-and-kill squads touted by John Arquilla in his pseudo-gang promo.

Shortly after his appointment to the Deputy Undersecretary position, General Boykin drew fire, for remarks he delivered?in uniform?at a fundamentalist Christian church, in which he smeared Islam as a "Satanic" religion, and characterized the U.S. invasion of Iraq as a religious "crusade." He also said that "God had placed George W. Bush" into the Presidency, provoking serious debates about his own sanity and a Pentagon Inspector General's Office probe.

First Earth Battalion?Where It All Began

According to author Jon Ronson, in 1977, Lt. Col. Jim Channon, a Vietnam War combat veteran, wrote a letter to Lt. Gen. Walter Kerwin, then the U.S. Army Deputy Chief of Staff, proposing a fact-finding mission to unearth ways for the U.S. military to become more "cunning." Channon was given an open-ended assignment, a small Pentagon budget, and spent the next two years, by his own accounts, exploring the depths of the New Age movement, seeking military applications. Channon visited over 150 New Age facilities during his travels, with such countercultural names as: Gentle Wind, Integral Chuan Institute, Dayspring, Inc., The Center of Release and Integration, Postural Integration Reichian Rebirthing, the New Age Awareness Fair, Beyond Jogging, Aikido with Ki, the Biofeedback Center of Berkeley, and the Esalen Institute.

Channon particularly spent a good deal of time training under Michael Murphy, the co-founder of Esalen, which was the leading West Coast New Age psychological experimentation center, testing a wide array of mind-control methods, many involving the use of psychotropic drugs. Cultist mass murderer Charles Manson spent Aug. 5, 1969 at Esalen, just four days before he unleashed the "Helter Skelter" murder spree, for which he is still serving a lifetime jail sentence. Manson had been tracked, from his years in state prison, by military psychologists, who were studying behavioral patterns of what they dubbed the "pathologically violent five percent."

In 1979, Lt. Colonel Channon presented his findings to the Army brass in a 125-page document, complete with slides, called "The First Earth Battalion." While the document was laced with New Age vocabulary ("The First Earth is not mission oriented, it is potential oriented. That means we shall continue to look everywhere to find non-destructive methods of control."), Channon did propose an array of non-lethal techniques that would be soon adopted by the military, including the use of atonal noises as a form of combat psychological warfare, oriental martial arts and spiritualist instruction, and widespread experimentation with psychoelectronics and other means of debilitating enemy forces.

Channon's First Earth Battalion slide show was brought to General Stubblebine, the head of INSCOM, by Colonel Alexander, the author of the Military Review article on "The New Mental Battlefield," and, by 1981, Stubblebine established a secret "psychic spies unit" at Fort Meade, to test out such dubious techniques as remote viewing.

Two years later, General Stubblebine traveled to Fort Bragg, to pitch the Channon/Alexander program to the top leadership of the Special Operations community. By now, Stubblebine was convinced that, with the application of the right "mind over matter" techniques, he could personally walk through walls. As of this writing, he has not yet apparently succeeded. The Fort Bragg session, as he would later recount it to author Ronson, was a fiasco, and no action was taken to implement his program?or so Stubblebine thought.

In reality, Fort Bragg, by 1978, was already a hotbed of mind-war experimentation. Among the programs carried out at remote corners of the sprawling special operations base: the Goat Lab, where a team of New Age-trained Special Forces soldiers attempted to burst the hearts of goats, in an adjacent holding pen, through the power of psychic concentration. Veterinarians working on the base were horrified that Special Forces planes were airlifting goats up from Central America, without going through the normal Customs inspections. The goats were used in the training of combat medics. The goats would be shot, their limbs would be amputated, and, on some occasions, they were "de-bleated" by having their tongues cut out or their throats slashed. Then, they were subjected to the Goat Lab psychic warfare tests.

Keying off of Channon's blueprint, a Special Operations experimental team, dubbed "Jedi Warriors," after the Star Wars craze, were trained in a wide array of Eastern oriental martial arts and meditation techniques, combined with super-strenuous physical training programs. Outside "experts" like Dr. Jim Hardt, were brought in to train the "Jedi Warriors" to heighten their mental telepathy skills through Zen. Following Jim Channon's First Earth Battalion recipe, Stuart Heller, a New Age psychologist, who gave classes in stress control to corporate executives and officials at NASA, was brought in to provide similar schooling to the commandos. Channon had been introduced to Heller by Marilyn Ferguson, the author of the 1980 book The Aquarian Conspiracy, which peddled a New Age version of H.G. Wells' original Open Conspiracy concept of mass social control and cultural paradigm-shifts.

Not all the instructors of the "Jedi Warriors" were counterculture psychologists. Michael Echanis, a Green Beret who was badly wounded in Vietnam, but later developed advanced martial art skills, was brought in to train the "Jedi" in Hwa Rang Do, a combat technique that emphasized "invisibility." Echanis would be killed in 1978 in Nicaragua, while working as a mercenary for the regime of Anastasio Somoza. He had been the martial arts editor of Soldier of Fortune magazine, a well-known hiring hall for ex-soldiers and wanna-be's, seeking their fortunes as mercenaries.

By 1983, between the INSCOM program and the black box efforts at Fort Bragg, a fairly extensive network of military "spoon-benders" had been assembled, to the point that Task Force Delta was created, to stage quarterly meetings of as many as 300 military occult practitioners, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Col. Frank Burns launched Meta Network, one of the first "chat rooms" run through DARPA's (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) computer networking system, that would ultimately evolve into the internet.

The scheme to create a breed of Nietzschean "super soldiers" employed some very far-out characters, like the Israeli "spoon-bender" Uri Geller, a one-time stage magician, who was brought into the U.S. intelligence community under the original patronage of Dr. Andrija Puharich, a doctor who had been conducting work on parapsychology and telepathy for the U.S. Army's Psychological Warfare Division, since the 1950s. Dr. Puharich ran the Round Table Foundation of Electrobiology, which experimented with the manipulation of brain waves. He worked closely with Warren S. McCulloch, one of the founders of Cybernetics, and with the British intelligence counterculture guru, Aldous Huxley.

Wolfowitz Peddles Non-Lethal Warfare

According to author Ronson, in an October 2001 interview in London, Uri Geller confided to him that he had been "called back" to work for the U.S. government, immediately after the Sept. 11 attacks. It seems that the Bush Administration decided that the "psychic spies" could play a productive role in the hunt for Osama bin Laden, and in efforts to prevent a replay of the terror attacks on New York and Washington.

In fact, Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz had been a big advocate of some of Alexander and Channon's ideas, while serving as the chief policy advisor to then-Defense Secretary Dick Cheney in the George Herbert Walker Bush Pentagon. On March 10, 1991, Wolfowitz wrote a memo to Cheney, "Do We Need a Non-Lethal Defense Initiative?" in which he wrote, "A U.S. lead in non-lethal technologies will increase our options and reinforce our position in the post-Cold War world." While Wolfowitz apparently made no mention of the more bizarre practices promoted by Colonel Alexander, the guru of the non-lethal weaponry campaign, at the time of Wolfowitz's memo, Alexander had retired from active duty, and had been named head of the Non-Lethal Weapons Program at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

In 1990, Colonel Alexander had also come out with a book, The Warrior's Edge, in which he promoted a variety of unconventional methods to promote "human excellence and optimum performance" among soldiers, based on a course he taught in 1983 called Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Among the students in that course were then-Senator and later Vice President Albert Gore, Gen. Max Thurman, and General Stubblebine. By his own accounts, Alexander and Gore became close friends in 1983, and remain so today.

Colonel Alexander wrote that the goal of The Warrior's Edge was to "unlock the door to the extraordinary human potentials inherent in each of us. To do this, we, like governments around the world, must take a fresh look at non-traditional methods of affecting reality. We must raise human consciousness of the potential power of the individual body/mind system?the power to manipulate reality. We must be willing to retake control of our past, present, and ultimately, our future."

Uri Geller was not the only "psychic warrior" called back to government service after 9/11. Jim Channon, the original First Earth Battalion New Age super-soldier, according to author Ronson, began holding a series of meetings in early 2004 with the new Army Chief of Staff, Gen. Pete Schoomaker. Schoomaker had been commander of Special Forces at Fort Bragg when the "Goat Lab" and "Jedi Warrior" programs were under way. Ronson wrote that "The rumor was that General Schoomaker was considering bringing Jim back from retirement to create, or contribute to, a new and secret think-tank, designed to encourage the army to take their minds further and further outside the mainstream." Ronson described it as a revival of Task Force Delta. Ronson soon received an e-mail from Channon, confirming the rumor, and explaining that the think-tank idea had been floated "because Rumsfeld has now openly asked for creative input on the war on terrorism .. mmmm." Channon elaborated:

"The Army has requested my services to teach the most highly selected Majors. The First Earth Battalion is the teaching exemplar of choice. I have done that in the presence of General Pete Schoomaker.... I am in contact with players who are or have recently been in Afghanistan and Iraq. I have sent in exit strategy plans based on Earth Battalion ideas. I talk weekly with a member of a stress control battalion in Iraq who carries the manual and uses it to inform his teammates of their potential service contributions...."

Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib ... and al-Qa'im

The International Committee of the Red Cross has published a series of studies and sponsored several international conventions, to evaluate just how "non-lethal" the non-lethal technologies are that have been promoted by Alexander, Channon, and their ilk. According to a 1998 ICRC presentation before the European Parliament, non-lethal weapons are simply defined as weapons with a less-than 25% fatality rate. Such now widely used non-lethal weapons as lasers, extremely low frequency (ELF) weapons, and various chemical, biological, and audio stun weapons, can cause permanent damage, such as blindness, deafness, and destruction of gastrointestinal systems, which, the ICRC insists, require serious study and a new set of international treaties and conventions.

Indeed, according to both Ronson and The New Yorker writer Jane Mayer, many of the torture techniques employed at Guantanamo Bay, at Abu Ghraib, and at such less-well-known locales as al-Qa'im near the Syrian border in Iraq, are based on Channon and Alexander's non-lethal schemes, but with lethal consequences in some cases.

Ronson confirmed that a facility at al-Qa'im was conducting "interrogations" of captured Iraqi insurgents, after playing, non-stop, for days at a time, the theme song from Barney the Purple Dinosaur, "I Love You." Ronson is convinced that the music was a cover for subliminal frequencies, very high- or very low-frequency sounds that affect brain functioning, to break prisoners' resistance. The prisoners were kept in metal shipping containers in the scorching sun, blindfolded and in crouching positions, surrounded by barbed wire, with the music (and subliminals) blaring.

In an article published in the July 11-18, 2005 issue of The New Yorker, Mayer revealed that Special Forces psychologists from the Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) program at the JFK Special Warfare School at Fort Bragg had been brought to Guantanamo Bay, to oversee interrogation strategies. The SERE psychologists formed a core of the Behavioral Science Consultation Teams (BSCT, or "Biscuits") that "reverse engineered" the techniques that were used on Special Forces soldiers, to train them to survive enemy torture/interrogations, as part of the advanced special warfare program at Fort Bragg.

Jim Channon confirmed, in another e-mail exchange with author Ronson, that many of the ideas adopted by the Army Intelligence interrogators at Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib and al-Qa'im came right out of his First Earth Battalion blueprint.

'Living Embodiment' of First Earth Battalion

At one point in his probe of the military's spoon-benders, author Jon Ronson asked Stuart Heller, the friend of Marilyn Ferguson and Jim Channon, if he could name one soldier who was "the living embodiment" of the First Earth Battalion. Without a second thought, Heller replied: "Bert Rodriguez." "Bert's one of the most spiritual guys I've ever met," Heller told Ronson. "No. Spiritual is the wrong word. He's occultic. He's like a walking embodiment of death. He can stop you at a distance. He can influence physical events just with his mind. If he catches your attention he can stop you without touching you."

As Jon Ronson reported, "In April 2001, Bert Rodriguez took on a new student. His name was Ziad Jarrah. Ziad just turned up at the US 1 Fitness Center one day and said he had heard that Bert was good. Why Ziad chose Bert, of all the martial arts instructors scattered around the Florida shoreline, is a matter of speculation. Maybe Bert's uniquely occultic reputation preceded him, or perhaps it was Bert's military connections. Plus, Bert had once taught the head of security for a Saudi prince. Maybe that was it."

Ziad Jarrah presented himself as a Lebanese businessman, who traveled a great deal and wanted to protect himself. "I liked Ziad a lot," Rodriguez later told Ronson. "He was very humble, very quiet. He was in good shape. Very diligent." Rodriguez taught Jarrah "the choke hold and the kamikaze spirit. You need a code you'd die for, a do-or-die desire." Rodriguez added, "Ziad was like Luke Skywalker. You know when Luke walks the invisible path? You have to believe it's there. And if you do believe it it is there. Yeah, Ziad believed it. He was like Luke Skywalker."

Rodriguez trained Ziad Jarrah for six months, and gave him copies of several knife-fighting books he had written. Jarrah shared them with a friend, Marwan al-Shehhi, who boarded with him at the Panther Motel and Apartments in Deerfield Beach, Fla.

On Sept. 11, 2001, Ziad Jarrah took control of United Airlines flight 93, and crashed it in a field in Pennsylvania. Marwan al-Shehhi commandeered United Airlines flight 175 and crashed it into the South Tower of the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan.

The First Earth Battalion: Dare to Think the Unthinkable, Ideas and Ideals for Soldiers Everywhere:

By Jim Channon

Introduction

In 1979, the Peoples? Republic of China publicly reported that several thousand of its children aged 8-14 were capable of telepathy, clairvoyance, X-ray vision, or psychokinesis. [EN1] Having already heard about this program, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), National Security Agency (NSA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Lawrence Livermore Laboratories, and the US Army were simultaneously pouring billions of dollars into their own similar research.

The Army program was headquartered at Fort Meade, Maryland, and was part of the Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Leaders included Generals Edmund Thompson and Albert Stubblebine, and Colonel John Alexander. [EN2]

Officers assigned to the US Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania [http://carlisle-wwwarmy.mil/library/ris.htm] contributed research to the project, and "The First Earth Battalion" is essentially a textual copy of one group's unclassified briefing slides.

Although decidedly New Age, the War College project was not entirely theoretical. Colonel Alexander, for example, went on to become a leader in the Los Alamos National Lab's non-lethal weapons program. [EN3] Likewise, during the early 1980s Special Forces hired Richard Strozzi Heckler and other outside contractors to provide two A-teams, a total of 25 men, with training in biofeedback, aikido, and "mind-body psychology." In the latter program, a typical training day included running, swimming, "industrial-strength" calisthenics, and 1-1/2 hours of aikido practice. After six months, the soldiers were not aikido masters but they were quantifiably 75% more physically fit than when they started. [EN4]

During correspondence with the editor in January 2000, author Channon had this to say: The ideas circulated by this mythical force [First Earth Battalion] began with combat of the collective conscience? the principal that if any contest is viewed by the television audience, it will be judged in the end on ethical superiority. Thus cameras mounted on dune buggies. The Army War College has the most exhaustive instructional materials on peacekeeping. All these ideas were first represented by Earth Battalion thinkers and the manual you have.

Channon's statement may sound hyperbolic, but if you substitute "CNN" for "EARTH BATTALION satellite" in the following document, then you have a good description of the United States military's foreign policy of the 1990s. Likewise, if you think of the global communication system Channon envisioned as the Internet, then it appears that he had a pretty good idea of where ARPANET (the acronym for the Department of Defense's Advanced Research Projects Agency's computer network) was headed. Therefore, despite the hyperbole and New Age jargon, Channon's crystal ball proved clearer than cynics probably expected.

And if nothing else, the following paper does suggest why drug testing became common for all ranks during the mid-1980s.

PROTO-CULTURE Building a new culture as a system

The attached FIRST EARTH BATTALION field manual is a physical representation of a mythical culture. Its purpose is to familiarize people with an entirely new set of values and visions all set within a context of community. They can imagine the whole system. They can test the assumptions. They can see relationships. They can understand the work. They can find a place for themselves.

This tool was used in the United States Army during the early eighties. It allowed an entire generation of the army's best minds to practice the future. Since that time the army has embarked on a radically new mix of peace-keeping missions. They are leaders in the environmental movement. They have built an incredibly agile educational system using simulations of the future not worn out models of yesterday. If this information seems strange to you it is because you are relying on media that has not bothered to get smart enough about these things to report on the situation.

What is important here is that you engage in a whole-systems approach to the new civilization you want to create. It is easy to see what doesn't work. It is even easier to whine about what you expect others to do. What we need is for you to is to assemble the new world as a system in combinations that work. Bring your ideas into scenarios that allow you and others to see the whole community as a dynamic entity. This is social architecture.

Notice that the content in this field manual has pictures and words reinforcing each other. Feel the culture as it is revealed as a working entity. Consider your thinking taking shape in the form of such a proto-culture.

warrior monks & the first earth battalion

though this might be old-hat to some (tom b, you old counter cultural coot i?m looking at you!) the first earth battalion is new to me. it?s the product of a unique convergence of eras and ideas not likely to be arrived at again any time soon. the tail end of the u.s. military investigations into altered states, the increased esteem of psy-ops, the army?s hollywood connection, and both the environmental and new age movements which had been simmering in the cloudy minds of a generation of super-stoned, barefooted, longhairs. fed on this unholy placenta, a resulting birth was the First Earth Battalion Operations Manual

?the whaah?? well it?s a 1979 military document, by retired Lieutenant Colonel Jim Channon, which essentially laid out an idyllic vision of a future U.S. military, peopled by an elite class of tree-hugging, spiritually enlightened warrior monks, who would usher in an earthly paradise through love and (among other kooky methods) telekenisis.

really you have to read through it a bit to get the full weight of the bat-shit craziness of it all. i can?t really scratch the surface here. the fully hippie-come-star trek illustrated pdf can be downloaded here or the text version can be viewed here.

the vision that it lays out is comical to say the least. to my mind think the whole thing reads like a manual for a dungeons and dragons style role playing game (1st earth battalion: march of the telekinetic spirit lambs. a mmorpg, coming soon. it?s my idea! keep your grubby hands off it. ) take for instance this list of character classes which might have been torn directly from a d&d spin-off:

people

All warrior monks, but an interdependence of New Age skills as well.

Spirit wizard
Meditation leader
Martial arts wizard
Nutritionist herbalist
Vexillographer (flags and banners)
Cinematographer
Old tapes
Holographer

Minstrels
Video technoid
Satellite technoid
Laser technoid
General systems theorist
Physicist
Futurist

Conservationist
Indian tracker

thymelod the meek casts advanced herbalist spell, sneeze of confusion, for +12 allergy damage.

what might said earth warriors look like? take a look at this piece of artwork commissioned for a proposed movie version of the 1st earth battalion story-

yeah. anyhoo kooky though the whole thing may be it gets more interesting, and less amusing, when you take jon ronson?s very interesting sounding book the men who stared at goats into account.

blurb: In 1979 a secret unit was established by the most gifted minds within the US Army. Defying all known accepted military practice - and indeed, the laws of physics - they believed that a soldier could adopt the cloak of invisibility, pass cleanly through walls and, perhaps most chillingly, kill goats just by staring at them. Entrusted with defending America from all known adversaries, they were the First Earth Battalion. And they really weren?t joking. What?s more, they?re back and fighting the War on Terror. ?The men who stare at goats? reveals extraordinary - and very nutty - national secrets at the core of George W Bush?s War on Terror.

evidently some of the looniness from the first earth battalion seeped into the psy-ops groundwater of the pentagon, not as a utopian vision for peace, of course, but in the form of novel ways to torture people. the best documented tactic seems to be ?torture by repetitive music? which you can read a little about on wfmu?s beware the blog in a march 2005 post titled: tunes for torture, as well as a little related info over at vice.

as for the fate of the creator of it all jim channon, well one need only check out this vid of him giving a keynote and all will become clear. (that?s him in thumbnail.)

250 business innovators experienced a Global Mind Change in Santa Barbara this weekend.

"Future shock is not one big idea," Jim Channon whispered from the podium, "it's a thousand little ones."

How many business conferences open with a masked and robed master of ceremonies calling in the "muse" of the future of business? At the Global Mind Change Forum put on last weekend in Santa Barbara by the World Business Academy, that's exactly what Channon did - and the muse appeared, singing, dressed in a blue feathered robe, and slowly crossed the stage while Channon fell to his knees.

Channon is billed as America's first "corporate shaman," and is the originator of the popular concept of "corporate visioning," but he's also got the chops - and the credentials - to be taken very, very seriously, having worked as a consultant for ten of the world's hundred largest companies, and as lead futurist and educational technologist for the U.S. Army. His theatrical presentation marking the opening of the three day seminar was well received by the energized, if mildly astonished, audience of 250 business people from around the world, most of whom looked more like Men's Wearhouse customers than seekers of aboriginal wisdom.

As Channon closed his speech to great applause, one businessman who had come all the way from Great Britain turned to another and said in a tone of scandalized glee, "Can you imagine that guy speaking in London?!"

How FEMA Blocked Airboats

"Not because federal officials provided guidance. Instead, a major from the Wildlife Service ran the operation". Not because of federal officials but in spite of them, and not because of Dub Bush-whacker(American Airboats is in Texas on I-10 near the Texas border with Louisiana and I-10 passes through New Orleans). Orange, Texas, was later hit dead on by the second major hurricane, Rita. And not because of Jeb Bush-whacker, governor of Florida, who could have told his brother to back off his flakey green hyped up chickenhawk FEMA airboat Bush Whackers "stuck on stupid", but didn't. Maybe Dick and Dub and Jeb were selling the $16  a gallon gasoline FEMA made airboaters buy? Or, the worse the better until Dub's messianic photo op? What I can find on the internet makes it sound as if Cat 5 of Tennessee contracted all the Katrina airboat volunteers in the country,"seeking 300 airboats...700 boats on standby", a thousand airboats, for HSA/FEMA, but that would be tantamount to preventing as many airboats as possible from coming, since FEMA was blocking airboats by two fuel constraints. FEMA rules required each airboat operator to buy a huge, expensive five hundred gallon tank and then fill it with $8000 worth of fuel(then current Gulf Coast prices) or waste fuel towing five hundred gallons of fuel plus their airboats all the way from Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Tennessee, places airboats came from. Then, FEMA Bushwhacked airboats again if they did not fill their tanks at home before leaving-- FEMA turned back fuel tanker trucks from Mississippi and Louisiana! And, if an airboat operator ran that gauntlet, he was out as much as $8000 plus the cost of an ad hoc, soon to be useless dedicated 500 gallon fuel storage tank. -Bob http://subintsoc.net/situationroom/?p=893 by Glenn Klein FEMA called in a company that owns and operates a fleet of air boats, to aide with the search and recovery of citizens trying to survive the disaster and who are still in their homes, etc.  A friend of mine (from Arkansas) is one of the owner/operators of an air boat in that fleet. He responded to FEMA’s request and went down to assist, all at his own expense. When there, he reported to a FEMA manager or supervisor who told him, and I quote:  ”We need your assistance and can use your help every day, there’s a lot of folks who have not been found. But, you will have to pay[Dick and Dub $16 a gallon] for your own gasoline for your air boat.” The cost of gasoline for that air boat, for each day, amounts to approximately $550.00 per day, minimum.  With the current gasoline crisis, it could cost considerably more, up to $600 - $700 per day. This young man volunteered his time AND his boat to help - and was then told by FEMA that he would have to pay, additionally, out of his own pocket, all of the costs for his gasoline - to find the people who were in flooded homes across the entire flooded area in the City of New Orleans, where FEMA is assigned. This young man doesn’t have the money to donate his costs for gasoline for FEMA’s project, so, guess where he is right now: yup, on the way back to Arkansas. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/weather/orl-caneboats0205sep02,0,312889.story As a flooded New Orleans sinks further into despair, up to 500 Florida airboat pilots have volunteered to rescue Hurricane Katrina victims, transport relief workers and ferry supplies. But they aren't being allowed in. And they're growing frustrated.  "We cannot get deployed to save our behinds," said Robert Dummett, state coordinator of the Florida Airboat Association. He said the pilots, who range from commercial airboat operators to weekend pleasure boaters, "are physically sick, watching the New Orleans coverage and knowing that the resources to help these poor people is sitting right in our driveways." On standby since Monday, the pilots -- many from Central Florida -- have spent thousands of their own dollars stocking their boats and swamp buggies with food, water, medical supplies and fuel. But the Federal Emergency Management Agency will not authorize the airboaters to enter New Orleans. Without that permission, they would be subject to arrest and would not receive security and support services. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/state/orl-18canerail0305sep03,0,5461523.story?coll=orl-news-headlines-state One hundred Florida airboaters were on their way to rescue disaster victims Friday after federal officials finally gave the group the official go-ahead. As many as 500 airboat pilots from the state have volunteered to help, but the Federal Emergency Management Agency had refused to authorize the volunteers to enter New Orleans. Without that permission, they would have been subject to arrest and would not receive security and support services.  The initial 100 airboaters will work under the direction of the U.S. Coast Guard to evacuate more than 6,000 people marooned on their rooftops in Chalmette, La., a suburb of New Orleans. "Nobody has been there to help these people in Chalmette since the hurricane hit," said Robert Dummett, coordinator for the Florida Airboat Citizen Emergency Response Team, who enlisted the help of congressmen to allow the rescue effort to proceed. "These people are stranded." More Florida airboaters are lined up to help when the first wave of volunteers finishes its mission. The boaters have been instructed to carry enough fuel, water, food and other supplies to last 72 hours, and they have already had to purchase about 500 gallons of fuel each with their own money. 'We've watched all these people on TV we know we can help, and it has been so frustrating not to be able to do something.' Lauren Brown spokeswoman for the Florida Airboat Association http://www.txcn.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/texassouthwest/txcn/stories/090405dntexkatsixdays.2e1da9c.html Ray Cone, a volunteer who brought his airboat from Gainesville, Fla. Saturday was the first day that National Guard troops began arriving in Chalmette. The city of Vancouver, in Canada, sent its firefighters to help. The Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife sent 50 boats and 55 game wardens. Thomas Stone, the chief of the Chalmette Fire Department, said he was ashamed by the federal government's slow response. "We had people from Canada here before the federal government got here," Chief Stone said. "God help us if a terrorist attack occurs." The St. Bernard Parish president was so angry at the response that he cursed at federal officials several times during an impromptu news conference. "These bastards can take care of Iraq but they can't take care of their own ... people," said Henry J. Rodriguez Jr. Mr. Rodriguez said there was never widespread looting in his parish: "We gave orders that looters will be shot, and we don't care who they are." http://abqjournal.com/fjet/388707nm09-09-05.htm Friday, September 9, 2005 N.M. Jim Osborne, 47, was scheduled to report to the Orange Avenue post office in Fort Pierce but ended up on his airboat in the flooded streets of New Orleans, searching for survivors of Hurricane Katrina. After hearing last week about the need for search and rescue boats there, Osborne packed up a camper, his airboat and $500 worth of fuel, said his girlfriend, Veronica Flores. About 3 a.m. Friday, he left home with his son and two friends, and headed to Baton Rouge, La., where he hoped to meet up with other boaters and coordinate rescue efforts. "He told me, 'I just want to save one child up there and it would make my day,' " Flores said. First, he'd have to cut through red tape. From Osborne's periodic phone calls home, Flores learned that he found a staging area in Louisiana Sunday, but emergency officials didn't know where to send him. After waiting around a day, he was paired with a rookie cop from New Orleans, an immigration agent from Ohio and an NPR reporter When Osborne arrived in New Orleans, he said, he was one of only a few airboaters in the city. On Tuesday, he told Flores there were more than 300, from Texas, Arkansas and as far away as Pennsylvania. Osborne, a 20-year veteran of the postal service, had taken a few vacation days late last week, but was scheduled to return Tuesday to his regular route, delivering mail in Fort Pierce. Instead, he asked Flores to call an automated phone line at the postal service, requesting time off without pay. http://www.nola.com/newslogs/tporleans/index.ssf?/mtlogs/nola_tporleans/archives/2005_09_13.html a civilian airboat operator http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/college/la-na-katrina12sep12,1,5013197.story?page=2&cset=true&ctrack=1 troops patrolling in airboats http://www.policeone.com/writers/columnists/chudwin/articles/118924/ We off loaded a Trooper to an airboat and he checked an address for a listed 911 call http://www.timesargus.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050911/NEWS/509110406/1002/NEWS01 Barre and Montpelier, Vermont Times Argus September 11, 2005 By BOB DART Cox News NEW ORLEANS —"Not a day has gone by that we haven't taken somebody out," said Dale Dorman, an airboat enthusiast from Alpharetta, Ga. He said has been going out on searches for eight days and is "staying 'til it's done." Airboats can skim across inches of water and even patches of pavement. They are well suited for the search for victims in the half of the city still covered with water, nearly two weeks after Katrina struck. On Saturday, searchers took boats into Edgewood Park, a neighborhood of small frame houses near Interstate 10. Most of the pilots of the airboats, often called "swamp buggies," are volunteers from the Everglades, and the bayous, marshes and other wetlands of the South Sherald 1/8CQ3/8 and Craig Daniels, brothers from the southwestern Florida island of Chokoloskee, normally take tourists on Everglades nature tours. Police from around the country provide security on the boats. On the Daniels brothers' boat, the guards were two women sheriff's deputies from Bernalillo County, N.M., who carried AR-15 rifles, the civilian version of the military's M-16 assault rifle. Several airboat pilots have been taken for cleansing and treatment after falling into the floodwaters, which health officials say is laced with dangerous bacteria and pollutants. It's a tough job, said Dick Douse, who owns an airboat tour business in West Palm Beach, Fla. On Canal Street, what had been the launching point for airboats on Friday was dry pavement on Saturday. A corpse floated near Canal Street, just blocks from downtown and the French Quarter. "We've got one down there tied off on a light pole," said an airboat pilot from the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Agency. http://www.oscnewsgazette.com/index.php?option=news&task=viewarticle&sid=11331 01 Sep 2005 By Jason Holland Osceola News-Gazette Staff Writer With the flooding in the affected areas hampering rescue and relief efforts, Tennessee-based Cat 5 Disaster Services, a company that has contracts with the federal, state and county governments, put out a call for airboat pilots to help with search and rescue, supply runs and law enforcement patrols. They were seeking 300 airboats to help with relief efforts. According to Michael Linton, event manager with the company, by early Monday evening they had 700 boats on standby. They do not need any more crews, said Linton. Linton said they will be working in all three of the most affected states, but were waiting for more direction from emergency officials before sending out the crews, which come from Texas to Florida, even as far as Michigan. They must set up staging points, map out safe routes and determine where the need is greatest. According to Linton, each airboat and captain must be Coast Guard-licensed, with liability insurance. They must also be well equipped with food, water, fuel and other supplies for an extended stay. There has been no official word yet from emergency management personnel in Louisiana, Alabama or Mississippi about the need for airboats. The Florida airboat volunteers are being coordinated with help from the trade publication Airboat World, which is posting updates on its Web site, and Florida Airboat Association, although neither is officially associated with the contracted company. Lauren Brown, spokeswoman with the state association, said the organization had been inundated with calls from airboat pilots around the state trying to find out how they could help. Terri Latner, editor of Airboat World, said that airboats are versatile craft that would be useful in relief efforts, able to travel over shallower water than regular boats, even on land. With no underwater propeller, the airboats can more easily dodge underwater debris as well. Locally, several airboat companies, usually occupied with ferrying tourists, are on standby for word of where they are needed. Frustrated by a lack of information, they wait for the go-ahead to get on the road. Brent Sloan, owner of Big Toho Airboat Rides in Kissimmee, will be working with Cat5. He is on standby. “From what I’ve seen on TV and heard, it’s devastating,” said Sloan. “I’ll probably be running equipment to places it’s needed. I’ll be doing search and rescue, although if they don’t call soon there won’t be anything to search for.” Chris Costa, owner of Glades Adventures High Performance Airboat Tours in St. Cloud, is also prepared to send out one or two of his boats, effectively shutting down his business. However, Costa, who has been in contact with the Florida Airboat Association, said he is also waiting for word of when he can leave and where he is needed. Boggy Creek Airboat Rides owner Chris Long said he has called Cat5 and received confirmation that no more airboats were needed. However, he stands ready to help if more Coast Guard-licensed airboats and pilots are required. http://www.centralohio.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/BB/20050909/NEWS01/509090303/1002&template=BB September 9, 2005 News-Messenger County dive team chief returns after week of airboat recovery work By MATT SANCTIS The exhaustion was obvious even in Brian Edwards' voice as he spoke of the week he spent in New Orleans with his airboat, churning through murky, stinking waterways that used to serve as the city's downtown streets. Edwards, who works in the Sandusky County, Ohio, Tax Map Office, also leads the Sandusky County Dive Team. Edwards returned from New Orleans Wednesday after spending the past week helping evacuate flood victims from downtown New Orleans in his airboat(the airboat is usually used for ice rescues here in Ohio). Responding to requests for help ONLINE from New Orleans emergency personnel, Edwards packed 72 hours' worth of food and fuel and headed south to Louisiana where he met up with other airboat rescuers from Florida. They were quickly placed under the direction of the Louisiana Fish and Wildlife Service. Every morning, Edwards left at 6 a.m. with a convoy of eight other boats and headed downtown, where victims were herded onto his boat and taken to recovery points for evacuation. In a little more than six days, Edwards helped evacuate three downtown hospitals and a government building that held more than 200 Louisiana law enforcement officers. The boats returned home every night at dusk for repairs and cleaning, but crews didn't have long to rest before returning to work. The airboats could only carry five or six victims at a time, so although the boats could get to the victims quickly, repeated trips were necessary. Once at the recovery points, the victims were loaded onto buses and sent to Texas. Edwards said the rescue operation eventually got surprisingly smooth, but not because federal officials provided guidance. Instead, a major from the Wildlife Service ran the operation, and the local emergency crews learned how to get to the victims by a process of trial and error. "It was well-organized because we organized it," Edwards said. By the end of the week, fresh volunteers from around the country began pouring into the city, but so many people arrived to help "they were falling all over each other," Edwards said. The major who had conducted the operation finally told the airboat volunteers they needed to go home and rest. Crews from Texas and Tennessee were taking over their spots. http://www.wftv.com/news/4947561/detail.html Local Air Boaters Frustrated That They Couldn’t Help In Louisiana POSTED: 6:59 am EDT September 8, 2005, WFTV COCOA, Fla. -- Some local air boaters are among the Katrina recovery volunteers who feel they weren't allowed to help as much as they could have. When Al and Ann Ridgeway of Cocoa arrived in Louisiana with a permit to use their airboat for rescues, they got the run around. The couple received conflicting directions and were not allowed to enter certain areas because authorities heard some air boaters were using fake search permits[probably to get past FEMA nuisance posse, not for real world use! -Bob]. Finally, they gave up."The biggest shame of it is, we have an airboat that would carry a lot of people out of there," Al Ridgeway said. YAHOO! Project for the Exposure of Hidden Institutions (PEHI)

The purpose of the Project for the Exposure of Hidden Institutions (PEHI) is to put together the entire spectrum of hidden organizations and secret societies. Most of you who visit this site have probably heard of the more well-known 'secret societies' like the Council on Foreign Relations, the Bohemian Grove, and the Skull & Bones student society. Two other well known 'secret societies' are Bilderberg and the Trilateral Commission. The thing is, when you really research these institutes you find that members often disagree with each other, there's considerable infighting, and most members don't seem to be privy to any information from the black and deep black programs. This is the reason I always wondered how people went from the above organizations straight to the very undefined concept of the 'Illuminati'. Of course, I can see something very strange is going on. For some reason it's possible to suppress information about humanities past, the UFO phenomenon, alternative energy, the supernatural, high profile assassinations, or the true cause of many terrorist attacks. Rather than focusing on one tiny subject, PEHI will attempt to answer how all the above is possible and which persons and institutes could be responsible for it. This site will be fundamentally different than most. We don't need another rewrite combined with another religiously biased opinion, which doesn't stroke with any of the evidence. We need names of institutions, names of members, and as much background information about both as possible. We need organized digital membership lists in which all this information is available for any purpose at any time. Biographies should be included and must be updated continually in all of these lists as new information becomes available. I can already guarantee you that when this is done on all the globalist societies, one by one, we will see patterns in the leadership and we can pick out those people that need to be investigated still further. If there are any 'puppet masters' (and I'm not so sure about that at all), this is the only way to pick them out and to have a rock solid foundation of research no one can dispute. General oversight At this introduction page I will give you an idea of what I'm working on at the moment. It's not meant to back up every claim with a list of sources. This is something that will be done at the 'in depth' section of the website.   On the left I have organized a lot of the most influential privately funded discussion forums in the world. Already it is clear that a few interests dominate the scene. The first one is the infamous Rockefeller family. This family played a major role in setting up and / or maintaining most of the American-based institutions: the Americas Society, the Asia Society, the Japan Society, the CFR, and the Trilateral Commission. As far as I know, they also funded the Atlantic Institute for International Affairs and the Williamsburg Meetings, and probably a lot more. They themselves, or their proteges, are represented in almost every organization you see on the left. They funded many other less important organizations, which will be included in an upcoming 'Rockefeller family timeline'. Another major influence appears to be the Rothschild family. Of course, just as the Rockefellers, this has been repeated endlessly, but I personally had a hard time finding any indisputable evidence that backs up this claim. A lot of research still needs to be done, but here's what I know for sure: Today's chairman of Le Cercle has been a 15 year Rothschild veteran. A previous chairman of Le Cercle had a very dubious father who was one of the most important (hidden) Jews to have built up the state of Israel, side by side with the Rothschilds. The chairman of The European Institute is also a 15 year Rothschild veteran, again the only person of the board directly involved with the Rothschilds. The Rothschild Foundation is one the prime sponsors of the 1001 Club-affiliated Club 21, which funds and manages the so called 'Peace Parks' Foundation. On the board of directors of the Club 21 sits a Rothschild director, who seems to be some kind of descended of a former Rothschild associate / Shell chairman. The foundation of the chairman of the European Institute is involved with this club to a lesser extent. The same goes for the Rockefellers by the way. Other interesting coincidences I noticed is the fact that the only Brit I have come across that has been invited to the Bohemian Grove camp Mandalay is a representative of the Rothschild and Murdoch interests [update: found more. They all revolve around the major City of London interests and the Royal family]. Rupert Murdoch and Jacob de Rothschild are close friends. The only Brit I found that has been invited to the Sun Valley meetings turned out to be another very close associate of Jacob the Rothschild. Jacob de Rothschild has been the president of the London-based Institute for Jewish Policy Research and still is it's honorary president. The exact extent of the influence of the institute I do not know. All I know is that it has been described as 'very influential', that until recently it used to be called the 'Institute for Jewish Affairs', that it is closely affiliated with Chatham House (RIIA), and that the Israeli ambassador pays them a visit once in a while. Another interesting fact is that the Rothschild Foundation donated the money to build the Israeli Supreme Court and the Knesset. Coincidentally, the Supreme Court has a large pyramid with an eye sticking through its roof. What is a very interesting about the Rothschilds is that they indeed seem to do almost everything through a front man. But personally, I have no reason to believe they cannot be touched. For example, in 1981 Mitterrand came to power and immediately nationalized the Rothschild bank. Guy de Rothschild (and Le Cercle, which had been trying to prevent Mitterrand from coming to power) wasn't very happy about that. From that time on, Guy de Rothschild started focusing on his main U.S. company, New Court (now Rothschild Inc.), which was located in Rockefeller Center at the time. There are other indications that the Rothschilds are very influential, but not the ultimate 'puppet masters'. For instance, some of them were captured or killed by the nazis. Others successfully fled. In 1996, Amschel Rothschild was found dead in Paris, just after he was selected to take over the Paris branch of the family. It's a very strange affair and although his aunt and closest friends vehemently denied he was anything near depressed, nobody objected when the death was labeled a suicide. Looking at some of the statements of the Paris investigators there's every indication that Amschel was murdered. It doesn't seem to make much sense that his own family did it. Then they wouldn't have appointed him in the first place. So who was responsible? One other interesting tidbit that actually shows their influence again is the fact that Bill Clinton allowed Sir Evelyn de Rothschild to spent his wedding night in the White House! I still need to do a lot of research on this family before I can post a 'Rothschild family timeline' with all the documentation, but what has been written above is completely documented. One thing that often seems to pop up is the close relationship between the British Royal family and the Rothschild family. If the Rockefellers mainly represent the American interests, the Rothschilds mainly the Zionist interests, then the Royal family is the spider in the British interests. : These three important institutions have absorbed the leadership (or the founders) of all the organizations below it. In all of these high-level discussion groups the Royal family members aren't just figureheads. It has been stated repeatedly that the Royal family has made large investments in many of the largest British multinationals. This may not be proven, but it's actually quite understandable when you have such a huge amount of money laying around. Again, the British royal family members don't seem to be the ultimate 'puppet masters'. Prince Philip and his son Charles have very different personalities. Lord Louis Mountbatten, who was killed by an 'IRA bomb' in 1979, seems to have been assassinated by some right-wing Le Cercle-like interest. Two suspects were arrested even before the bomb went off, one of them was later convicted of the murder and sentenced to life. According to Diana's butler, the Queen mother warned him after Diana's death: "Nobody, Paul has been as close to a member of my family as you have. There are powers at work in this country about which we have no knowledge." Who or what was she referring to when she advised Paul to lay low? Another institute with a lot of power is the Vatican. The Knights of Malta, Opus Dei, and the Jesuits are all operating from out of the the Vatican and are heavily involved with the intelligence agencies of the West. I found many of them in the secret intelligence group Le Cercle. Especially the Order of Malta has a very close relationship with the Monarchs of Europe. It's worldwide head, Andrew Bertie is a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II and attends many of the royal weddings. The full influence of these organizations isn't known, but a large amount of the Knights of Malta and Opus Dei figures have been involved in serious scandals over the years. The Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM) is a descendent of the Knights Hospitaller, the organization to which many of the Templar assets were transferred. It's Protestant version is the Order of St. John, headed by Queen Elizabeth II, which is far less controversial. These two groups are the main interests represented at Le Cercle, which I rate among the most secret organizations we know of today. At least in recent times, the Vatican seems to be the underdog. You also have some royal and industrial families in mainland Europe that seem to have quite a bit of influence on the globalization process. By the way, did you know that the Ordo Draconis is actually a real organization with royal and noble families in it? You don't have to believe it from some second hand source, just visit the website from the royal house of Stewart and look at their European Council of Princes section. You'll find a page about their involvement in the Ordo Draconis. And did you know that they believe in so called 'dragon genes'? I wrote a little bit about it here, which is a small elaboration on statements that were made in the article on Le Cercle. So, as you can see, there's plenty of stuff to investigate. This introduction page is only meant to give an idea of where my personal research is going. Below you can find the names of some of the more important institutions people need to be aware of. Some of them are very secretive. Others are quite well-known, although knowledge usually doesn't extent beyond the name itself. In time, every single organization will be discussed on this site (okay, that might be a bit too ambitious). I left out many of the smaller, regional ones. If you start adding all the world's think tanks and meeting clubs, the list will be at least 5 times as long. And why bother writing them down when most of their chairmen and presidents can be found in maybe a handful of the most important institutions below? Existence proven It's hard to categorize a lot of the institutions below, because you don't always know who's primary purpose they serve. Generally, I tend to look at the country the institute was founded in and who's heading it. As for America, keep in mind that the Carnegie, Rockefeller, Ford, and other foundations have funded a huge amount of very influential non-governmental think tanks. The Brookings Institution, the Aspen Institute, the Foreign Policy Association, and the RAND Corporation are examples of this. United Kingdom United States Anglo-Arab Organization Alfalfa Dinners British Invisibles (IFSL) Americas Society Chatham House (RIIA) Asia Society Corps of Commissionaires Bohemian Grove Crown Agents Business Roundtable Fabian Society Council for National Policy Group 13 Council of Foreign Relations Hakluyt Japan Society Livery Companies JASON Group Multinational Chairman's Group Kroll Associates Order of the Garter MITRE Corporation (not-for-profit) Order of St. John of Jerusalem RAND Corporation (not-for-profit) Privy Council Renaissance Weekend The Round Table network Sun Valley meetings United Grand Lodge U.S. Council on International Business U.K. Intelligence U.S.-Russia Business Council   U.S. Intelligence   Williamsburg meetings     Anglo-US (and / or European) interests Israel 1001 club Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Atlantic Councils AIPAC Atlantic Institute for International Affairs B'nai B'rith Atlantik-Brücke CPMAJO Bilderberg Herzliya Conference (IPS) British-American Project (BAP)   Cercle de Lorraine Institute for Jewish Policy Research (JPR) China-EU Business Summit World Jewish Congress Club of Rome Israeli Intelligence DAVOS   EU-Japan Business Dialogue Vatican EU-Russia Industrialists' Roundtable Jesuits European Round Table Knights of Malta European Business Summit Opus Dei European Institute   Forum Europe Muslim world Financial Services Forum Muslim Brotherhood Friends of Europe   Group of Thirty Other religious Institute for European Defense and Strategic Studies European Council of Princes International Chamber of Commerce Ordo Draconis (Sarkany Rend) Le Cercle   Oil Club Scientology Open Russia Foundation   Pacific Basin Economic Council Questioned fraternities Pilgrims Society Princeton's Cap & Gown Pugwash Conferences Yale's Scroll & Key Safari Club (shut down 25 years ago) Yale's Skull & Bones Stay-Behind networks (should be gone now) Yale's Wolf's Head The Ditchley Foundations   Trans-Atlantic Business Dialogue   Trilateral Commission   TUCETU   WBCSD   If you are interested in a list of all the international Institutes of International affairs I suggest you click here. Existence not proven (from my own viewpoint) Bormann Organization / Group Martin Bormann was Hitler's most trusted aide and has never been captured. Some believe he oversaw the transfer of most of the Nazi capital into some 750 corporations in Germany, South-America, and the U.S. He received help from someone like Allen Dulles (SMOM, OSS chief, Pilgrims Society member, later CIA director). The purpose was to establish a future 4th Reich. It's quite obvious that this is linked with the Ratlines and the recruitment of Nazi general Reinhard Gehlen in the aftermath of WWII. I suggest you check Paul Manning's 1981 book 'Martin Bormann: Nazi in Exile' and the person who took over his work, Dave Emory. It seems that Paul Manning and his publisher have been punished severely for putting out the book.     Chateau des Amerois The castle was owned by Prince Philipp von Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and later by the Solvay family. The Solvay family is one of the leading industrial families of Europe (producer of medicines, plastics, and chemicals like fluor). In their 1996 book, Fritz Springmeier and Cisco Wheeler (very unsure what to think of their information) referred to it as the 'Mothers of Darkness castle'. This obscure castle does indeed exist and has been named in late 1996 and early 1997 by at least one 'X' survivor of the Dutroux affair as a place where nasty things happened. Different witnesses who described child torture, child rape, child molestation, child hunting, and child murder have been declared 'mad', but only after all the original investigators were suddenly replaced. There were also multiple claims of sex parties that were held in different castles. It didn't matter that the witness accounts included many verifiable corroborative details and helped solve a couple of previous child murders. The cover up was so obvious that 300,000 Belgiums went to the streets to protest against the way the investigation was conducted. At least 3 families of the victims have been convinced there is a massive cover up and at least 20 crucial witness have 'committed suicide'. It seems to be very hard to get access to these X-files. Maybe that has to do with the fact that many senior officials have been named as participants in the above crimes, including members of the royal family and at least one former European Commissioner (name hasn't been made public). At the moment, I don't see how Springmeier or Wheeler could have gained access to these secret hearings, but we'll see where this story goes in the future. Important update: I found quite a bit of Belgian individuals who have been accused in 1999 of having been involved in drug & child trafficking. The person who gave the list committed suicide within a year. After doing a small background check it turns out that some of them have conections to, or are members of, the Trilateral Commission, the European Round Table, the leadership of Le Cercle, important individuals of Bilderberg, and the Russian mafia. Solvay SA again played a leading role, just as 2 royal families. And let's not forget individuals closely involved in investigating the Dutroux affair. Then there is one person who supposedly was named in the Dutroux X-files. After looking up the few available details about this person, it turns out that he was probably a Jesuit. Persons with the same (quite unusual) surname appear on the boards of Solvay SA (not again!), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Coca-Cola Enterprises Belgium, and Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild - Genève. Another individual from the past with this surname was head of the Steel Division of the UN European Economic Commission in 1952. He brought Henri Rieben in contact with Jean Monnet, both founders of the European movement. And yet another individual of the past with this surname was a member of the 'Orde Souverain et Militaire du Temple de Jerusalem'. Because I know very little about this subject and much of it is written in French (and Dutch) it will take a lot of time before I might write an article about it. I didn't mention the names, because I first want to verify some details (how the families fit together and what the source of some of the information is). Just keep in mind that Europe is continent waiting to be explored. Another update: It is now clear to me that all the aspects of the 'globalist conspiracy' can be found in Belgium. Expect loads of fireworks in the future. It's beyond shocking.     Club of the Isles Could easily be the 1001 Club or possibly the Multinational Chairman's Group, because they share many of the same interests. Executive Intelligence Review mentioned it a couple of times. I asked them about the club, but they don't seem to have that much additional info either.     Committee of 26 This group is mentioned in Simon Regan's book 'Who killed Diana?'. The author was informed about this group through his intelligence contacts, including the one who advised him to look into Le Cercle. I quote from his book: "My own security contacts, including the Baroness, had also told me about a highly mysterious organization called the Committee of 26, which is apparently based in Bristol, in England?s West Country. I have never heard of this and can find no other official reference in any file. But it is apparently a super-secret "liaison desk" between the highest echelons of British and American agencies and has the "co-operation" of the French. I was told it was "Old Guard" and worked unilaterally. That is, it was a kind of uncontrolled "super-agency" which answered to no one. I cannot show that this agency even exists... I trust the Baroness, but she was unable to give me any feasible further "chapter and verse." David Icke in his book 'The Biggest Secret' wrote: "Why Bristol? It is a former Knights Templar port and its name has evolved from Barati, the Phoenician goddess. It just so happens that an elite unit of British Intelligence called the Committee of 26 is based there and they use the runway at the British Aerospace complex to fly British and foreign agents in and out of the country... In that period in the 1980s, not only in Bristol, there were strange deaths galore of people at the cutting edge of development in the ?defence? industries. "     Committee of 300 The group former MI6 agent John Coleman talked about back in 1992. It's very interesting if you compare the name with the 'Committee of 26' from totally different sources. I read chunks of the book, looking for evidence of its existence, but couldn't find it. I have organized the list of names (google's recent spelling correction is a god sent) and have been able to copy a significant amount of biographies from prominent and less-prominent members from other hidden organizations John Coleman has never talked about. I guess that's a good thing, but as I just said, this doesn't prove anything. I also have trouble believing 'the Olympians' control everything from China to South-Africa. Looking at the names, it's just like all the other hidden organizations, i.e. a high level discussion group.     Group 13 & I3 These two are said to be assassination teams from Britain and the U.S. Although there is no conclusive evidence, I am quite certain that both exist. You can find some information about Britain's Group 13 here and some information about the NSA's I3 here. The supposed head of Group 13 turned out to be someone who's background cannot be fully traced, not even by the British Parliament. This person and his allies also infiltrated the boards of many arms companies. When a company, like Astra, isn't useful anymore, they just give themselves huge salaries and run the company into the ground.     Knight's Templar (CIA) In his 1977 book 'The Night Watch', former CIA officer David Atlee Phillips wrote on page 123: "...that small circle of well-bred, highly educated adventurers who were known to some in the CIA as the 'Knights Templars' - Allen Dulles, Frank Wisner, Kermit Roosevelt, Tracey Barnes, Dick Bissell, and kindred spirits. Other CIA veterans have confirmed the existence of similar associations within the agency, with names like the "Century group" and the "Gold Key group". The first three have been known members of Le Cercle. Of the first two we know they were involved in recruiting Nazis in the wake of WWII. Kermit Roosevelt helped de Marenches in setting up the Safari Club and led Operation Ajax which brought the Shah to power. I find it very interesting all these small hints to Templar organizations within intelligence groups as Le Cercle, the Committee of 26, and now the CIA.     Tavistock Network Said to be a worldwide mind-control network. Haven't studied it and don't really have an opinion about it either. The Tavistock Institute is located in London. You saw it in July 2005 when a bomb on a London bus splattered blood and debris on its facade. John Coleman talked about it. Kay Griggs also mentioned it.     The Brotherhood / The Firm Mentioned by Kay Griggs, wife of marine colonel George Griggs. According to Kay, her husband usually referred to the loose network he was part of as 'the Brotherhood' or 'the Firm'. She was also talking about a Zionist clique centered in New York City, which had the unofficial name 'the Joint'. Kay describes how there is a network of transnational criminals involved in all kinds of nasty stuff. This includes drug running, illegal arms trade, sexual perversion, mind control, assassinations, and the conducting of terrorism when deemed necessary. A short article with all the names she mentioned will be put up on this site. You can find the full 8-hour video here.     Did you notice that almost every single group we don't know that much about is related to intelligence? We can only guess how much more has been hidden from the public completely. Part 2, UFO organizations If someone thinks the UFO phenomenon is a non-issue, I suggest you take a look at some of the mainstream newspaper articles I gathered here. Whatever it is, the phenomenon is real and it is very likely that secret institutions have been set up to study it.     IPU IPU stands for the Interplanetary Phenomenon Unit, which, supposedly, was set up after the February 1942 Battle of Los Angeles incident. In a 1980 document released through a FOIA request, the Interplanetary Phenomenon Unit was part of the Scientific and Technical Branch of the Counterintelligence Directorate. It was dissolved during the late 1950?s and allegedly never reactivated. Their files were surrendered to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI). You can find scanned documents and a lot of additional info on Majesticdocuments.com.     MJ-12 MJ-12 is said to be a highly secret intelligence agency set up for the purpose of investigating the UFO phenomenon. At the same time they kept all the information from the public. The project was started after the July 1947 UFO wave, followed by a crash in Roswell. Together with the birth of MJ-12 the National Security State was born. Almost anyone who has claimed to have inside information on the group has said that MJ-12 still exists today, although it changes its name once in a while. Many have also added that the group has been privatized, which is a subject that sounds very familiar. There is a large amount of documentation on Majestic 12, although these documents won't be accepted, simply because they are too extraordinary to believe. According to Stanton Friedman, most of the later documents are fake, but the earlier ones stand up to careful scrutiny. You can find scanned documents and a lot of additional info on Majesticdocuments.com. It is said that certain JASON studies have been conducted for MJ-12. The existence of the JASON Group is beyond dispute and an article about them will appear soon.     Then there are some societies I won't go into, because they are too 'far out' when there is a complete lack of any evidence they exist. If you're interested in Tamar, Moriah, the Cult of the Serpent, the Grand Druid Council, the Order of the Quest, the Keepers of the Dawn, or something similar like that, I suggest you do an internet search. I also skipped the Priory the Sion, because I haven't got a clue what to believe about it.
