I prefer the msr whisperlite international. It is one of very few stoves
that can use a multitude of fuel sources. From kerosene to jet fuel to
93 octane from your car. Very easy set up and cleaning. And it really
does not weight that much.

How about something like the MSR Superfly Ascent?

It's propane, so no spilling fuel (which could happen with solid fuels
also). It's supported from above, so it should stay relatively level
even in
swells. Not too sure I would like any stove in heavy seas. For that
situation, maybe you could use chemical toe heaters or something.

Keep in mind, I'm not into sailing, it's been a long time since I've
been at
sea. Your judgment is probably far better than mine...
