Vapor Barrier shirt material?

For those who use VB clothes, what material do you use?  What temperature
range do you normally use the clothes.  I am looking to extend the range of
my winter hiking by using VB clothes.  I was thinking of using uncoated 1.1
oz nylon but thought it might not hold in enough humidity to work well.
