Who among us would have DaveF's forbearance if we were being disbelieved, 
taunted, ridiculed, provoked, and parodied the way he has been?  He's had 
more backcountry experience than most of us, and if his spelling is 
idiosyncratic (like, maybe he's dyslexic -- as it appears some other members 
of this list are to one degree or another), so what, spelling isn't what he 
stands to teach us.  He's not unintelligent.  I am appalled at the uncivil 
behavior of some members toward him -- some of the very ones who seem most 
humane in other contexts.  Don't we ordinarily keep our disrespectful 
thoughts to ourselves?  What is it that's releasing this, the anonymity of 
electronic communication?  Some sort of mob rule -- someone else's aggressive 
behavior unleashing one's own?  PLEASE stop the bullying.
