Sespe River Trail
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate, Trail Number: 20W14, Length: 17.5
Miles
GENERAL INFORMATION: The Sespe River Trail offers Wilderness
access along a seventeen and a half mile, easy to moderate trail. Take Rose
Valley Road to Lion Campground. Cross the river bed and head downstream (east)
on the old road. Along the way there are seven more river crossings before
Sespe Hot Springs, the first of which is at Bear Canyon after 4.5 miles. There
are numerous dispersed camping locations and many deep pools along the river,
though they may be dry during the summer. In June of 1992 this area became part
of the Sespe Wilderness, and mountain bicycles are no longer allowed. Access is
by foot or horseback only.

Directions
From Ventura, Travel north on Highway 33 for about 25 miles. The
highway is under restrictive use once it enters the forest. Located 7 miles off
Highway 33 on Forest Road 6N31.3. Take Rose Valley Road to Lion Campground.
Cross the river bed and head downstream (east) on the old road.
