I think we are having a communication problem. You did say "insulted" and my
original comment was only about "boiling water on the trail."

FYI, I usually use a pump filter, but I do use chemicals fairly often and a
gravity filter once in a while. I boiled water on the trail once and probably
never will again. I was thirsty and waiting for the water to cool was a
bummer.

I have a another question. You said:
I contacted Camelbak and MSR Corp this week, and both manufacturers
claim their hyrdation products will withstand boiling-hot water (not
boiling IN the bladder, but the addition of just-boiled water).

How do you even try to boil IN the bladder?
