re : Ray J: msg#00059culture.backpacking.light
For those that label Ray a nut case, remember that today's anti- establishment theory is tomorrow's orthodoxy. I don't think many people will deny Jardine his due on the great strides he made for long distance hiking. I found that he not only thought outside the box, but has an attitude that you must believe like him or you're WRONG. I know, I know he says to hike your own hike but if you really listen to him, its his way or the highway. The other words seem to me to be lip service. Forget science or anything else you must eat raw food or you are a brainwashed American. I mentioned he was sounding more like a regular ordinary guru and not the Guru of long distance hiking. No, I wasn't surprised when he didn't respond and blocked me from his website... (: Make no mistake about it Ray thinks outside the box and is thinking more like a religious guru instead of an innovator. Yes, I have labeled him a nut case. Oh well, he did help me lighten my backpack weight and I bought his book. A win-win situation I would think. Bryan |
