Hi Ed,

Yes, definitly my food system lends itself to easy
resupply at grocery stores. Its very easy to have this
type of food on hand, and cooks quickly. The oatmeal
comes in flavors, so I only add powdered milk if I
have some on hand, or split a box with someone in
town. You are right, it would boost the nutritional
value of the meal, but I don't usually carry it.
Sometimes I luck out on it.

The ramen I started cooking thus, using that
ultralight cookset that weighs just over 3 ounces. I
heat up my water to nearly boiling, then pour it over
the broken up noodles which have been placed in my
plastic bowl. I do use the flavor packages. I place
the top of my plastic cook set on top, and let it
hydrate. Meanwhile, I am heating more water, using the
same one hex tablet, or ounce of fuel. I eat the
noodles, and may add more water, making it soupy. Then
, I might crumble up those cheesy peanutbutter
crackers, and add them to it like you would crackers
at home to soup. Its amazingly filling and tasty. By
using the little pot to heat water, and not cook in
the pot itself, I can heat water as long as my fuel
holds out...which means an extra cup of coffee, etc.

Hope this helps. I like hot food in the evening. Its
just a very relaxing reward for a long big mile day,
or rainy day.

good luck on your endeavors
