Re: Re: Non-breathable raingear.: msg#00034culture.backpacking.light
A non-breathable cagoule is another option. After reading about Brawny's success with non-breathable raingear, I ordered some Zero Porosity Fabric from Aerodyne Research to sew a cagoule. It should get here today or tomorrow. I have a cagoule pattern from Rainshed and plan to modify it by adding pit zips and eliminating the front pocket. My thinking is that -- with the open bottom and open pit zips -- the cagoule should ventilate pretty well. With the pit zips closed I can use it to replace the wind shell that I now carry. The cagoule's longer length should eliminate the need for rain pants at milder temps. -- Ed |
