Ed,

You are welcome. I like to see people putting together unusual trips. The
Batt to Bear certainly qualifies, but it will be anything but a wilderness
hike - but you already know that. The 'nights in hotels' comment is probably
correct, as most of the Hudson River shoreline is owned (privately or
municipaly). This detracts from it's atractiveness for me, but the days
hiking should be interesting. Let me know how the planning goes.

I've hiked several sections of the LP and AT in the Harriman and Catskill
area, if you need info on these areas.

BTW - my son is a second year Marine (Lance Corporal) and just shipped for
the Mediteranean.
