[FCworld] Can we work together to make FC more available?

Can we work together to make FC - Facilitated Communication - more 
available?

1.  First of all, let me clearly state that I personally wish to work 
together with everyone to make FC - Facilitated Communication - more 
available.  Here in Israel I have worked together for over a decade 
with a particular group of people, who share certain beliefs about 
FC, to make FC available to a small number of individuals with 
disabilities including my own son Ben.  Unfortunately, others who are 
proponents of FC both here in Israel and elsewhere have not worked 
together with me because of certain beliefs that I have (naively) 
revealed to them.

2.  However, most of the people who refused to work with me did so 8 
to 11 years ago.  Maybe, their views have mellowed over all this 
time.  Therefore, I wish to give another try to work together with 
everyone possible to make FC more available.  Before doing so, I do 
feel that some specific issues should be discussed within the FCworld 
e-mail group to try to make sure that we really can work together.  
Over the next few weeks, I will try to raise these issues, while at 
the same time begin my own efforts to make FC more available where I 
now live, in the state of Israel.

3.  Lastly, at this time, I do wish to note that certain practices in 
connection with FC with which I was associated (in contrast to 
beliefs) stopped many months ago and I do not plan to be associated 
with such practices.  For over 8 years, ending in early 2003, my son 
Ben used to give spiritual advice.  While I continue to believe that 
my son Ben is able to give spiritual advice because of his type of 
FC, my son Ben and the group that I am involved with, no longer do 
so.  I hope that the ending of such practices will allow other 
proponents of FC to now work with me to make FC more available.
