Hi Tink,
He is doing well when he is there.  He has been attending 50%-60% of the time which is an improvement from last year.  He is still wearing his hat and paces three times a day in my room.  When in his other classes, he has been more outgoing than usual.  He has agreed to read aloud in English class and freely joined a poetry group in his creative writing class.  Some of the kids in his English class commented on what a great voice he had and asked him if he rappped.  You can even get him to join in a game of checkers or Uno now.   He has jazz first hour but I have kept him with me thus far.  There are a lot of kids in that class and it seems to stress him out.  I do have one of the guitar students working with him privately once a week.    He is in primarily Special Education classes, except for creative writing.  He can keep up with regular education academics, but the large class sizes overwhelm him.  Send him all the positive energy you have.  I really want him to make it!

Mary Ann
