Legal Case Management System 0.7.2 released: msg#00014crm.lcm.devel
Hello, We have released version 0.7.2 of the Legal Case Management software, this is the second version of the development branch. This release fixes many bugs and aims to stabilise the development branch. The most notable changes since the last development include: - The search "client/org/case" function, which uses ajax, now displays a "request in progress" when searching, so that it is more clear what is happening when the server is slow to respond. - The default case status is now 'open' rather than 'draft'. This can be reverted back to the previous behaviour using "my_options", see http://www.lcm.ngo-bg.org/article135.html for more information. - A more descriptive error message is now displayed when an export fails and the required configuration has been documented here: http://www.lcm.ngo-bg.org/article147.html - It is now possible to create a new organisation directly from the "new case" form. This must be activated explicitely from the configuration panel. - The term 'case alleged crime' was changed to 'case problem'. We are attempting to remove the terms specific to criminal law which are present in the software, and to provide a more flexible solution for administrative law and community centres. - The management of contacts was much improved to be more flexible on which fields are mandatory and which are recommended. - A new 'date of birth' field was provided for clients. - New German and Italian translations and an updated French translation. Known bug(s) in this release: - The resulting menu of the search "client/org/case" function is difficult to click in (tested in Mozilla Firefox). If there is a text widget under the menu, the browser will give the focus to the widget instead of the menu item. Temporary solution: instead of using the mouse, select the menu item using the up/down arrows on the keyboard. If anyone has any suggestion on how to fix this issue, please do not hesitate to contact us! - If the MySQL 'File_priv' is not set and the administrator imports a database, LCM will delete the database (this is expected and quite explicitely mentioned) but then will fail to import the database. As a result, the administrator will be unable to login. Temporary solution: delete the "inc/config/inc_connect.php", LCM will launch the installation procedure, which will allow the admin to create a new account. Make sure that the Flush_priv is set, then re-import the database. To download: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=111394&package_id=187910 Upgrade information: To upgrade from a previous version, overwrite the files then login as administrator. This will trigger the upgrade of the database structure (if necessary).
