Subject: Re: Interesting monitor calibration discovery department

So the verdict is in: for the utmost quality in
calibration and profiling with the EyeOnePro, in direct contact with the
screen, give it ample time to warm up to the display.

I found some years ago that when reading printer profile patches with my i1Pro the readings slowly went up as the i1Pro warmed up. If I read the same white patch again and again, the readings slowly increased up to about 100 readings and then levelled off. If I slowed down the rate of reading to one every four seconds, that minimised the increase, so I settled on making 20 readings of the same white patch to warm the device up and then immediately taking the real readings at the rate of one every four seconds. I also took 20 readings of the white patch at the end to compare with the initial 20 readings.

So yes, temperature increases affect the i1Pro both for monitor profiling as pointed out by Roger and others, and for patch reading. I haven't tested to see what happens to temperature when reading patches in scanningmode.
