Re: Monitor brightness setting: msg#00134colorsync-users
Well, I'll admit my Eizo CG220 is too dim to match ANY of the several It could be both of you!! I would guess that neither of you is in the 'first flush of youth', and from birth onwards the light transmission of the lenses in our eyes decreases. So by the age of 50 or so, most people have some cloudiness and yellowing of their lenses, causing significantly reduced light transmission, particularly in the blue. It would be interesting to see if there is any correlation between age and preferred monitor brightness, and between age and preferred white point. I had my lenses replaced a few years ago. Now I prefer brown-tinted sunglasses whereas previously I preferred blue-tints. And I now wear them much more than previously. I don't think it is just chance that I use 80 cd/m2 with my Eizos, in rooms with normal daylight or artificial light. They are quite bright enough for me. Perhaps those of you who like 120 - 150 cd/m2 should see their opthalmologists. ;) bob Frost. -------------------------------------------------- From: "C D Tobie" <cdtobie@xxxxxxx> _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
