But this idea that 120-140cd/m2 is "ideal" is silly unless in the same sentence, you define the viewing conditions and said conditions are such that those settings produce a visual match.

The luminance level has to be adjusted to match the illuminance level of the monitor. The ideal monitor illuminance level is greater than 120 cd / m2."

There is a simple correlation between viewing booth illuminance and matching monitor luminance: illuminance [lx] = luminance [cd/m^2] * pi

I prefer 500 lx (ISO-3664 P2 practical print evaluation environment) and 160 cd/m^2.
