sakai is pestimistic about the future: msg#00772cms.sakai.devel
I needed a sakai Time object that would represent a time beyond any that would likely be reached in the next few generations. So what the heck: Time endOfLifeAsWeKnowIt = TimeService.newTime(Long.MAX_VALUE); That turns out to be Aug 17, 292278994 at 7:12 am. That's right. The year is 292,278,994. But this leads to an exception when you try to store it in the database. In trying to parse the date, you end up with a string index of -5. To be fair, maybe it's Hypersonic that's pessimistic about us making it out of four-digit years (decimal). Guess I'll scale back my expectations and set 9999 as the end of time....
