Re: Repository integration with Sakai: msg#00693cms.sakai.devel
Peter, This is a fine vision - but there are a lot of dimensions to making sure this truly works well in all use cases. Most current open-source repository systems cannot handle the on-line performance demands of a large-scale Sakai installation. We will need to evolve a sophisticated set of plug-ins that allow great flexibility for different Sakai installations. As an example, a Sakai installation supporting 500 users could easily store all of its resources in a separate repository. But a system supporting 100,000 users may not be able to "outsource" all of its storage. We will have to evolve our approach and add new features carefully over time. /Chuck On Apr 26, 2006, at 3:38 PM, Peter Murray wrote: Thanks for the added perspective, Jeff and Glenn.
