Choosing A Webhost:
A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to provide their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. Web hosts can also provide data center space and connectivity to the Internet for servers they do not own to be located in their data center, called colocation. more...

is it possible to set periodic appointments in OGo?

Yes.

I haven't found the way using the web interface.

No? Create a new appointment, the fifth row in the appointment editor has a label termed "Cycle:" ;-)

I'm really interested in getting this working via
xmlrpc, but I haven't managed to do this either.

Not sure whether it works, but it should.

I've seen in the "Skyrix web Groupware" doc that there is an appointment field called "cycleEndDate", but I don't know if it works and how to use it.

Cycles in OGo are implemented as individual but still connected appointments (so you can still delete or change a whole cycle) - for various very good reasons which should not be discussed here ;-)

So if you create a cyclic appointment, you set the interval type (only a limited set is available, see web ui) and a cycle end date to terminate the sequence of appointments being created.

Since you probably ask because of iCalendar/SyncML, this is not too easy to come up with a useful strategy (and indeed ZideStore also lacks that right now!).
The GroupDAV list archive might contain some discussion on that.
