You can use -WOHttpAdaptor_LogStream YES for sniffing the output.

The xmlrpcd sends XML-RPC responses as regular XML encoded in UTF-8:

It might be that the XML-RPC client library used by JOGI cannot deal 
with that and might assume ISO-Latin-1. Another possibility is that the 
client library treats all strings as ASCII.
The XML-RPC specification has some issues on that topic. (hm, 
www.xml-rpc.org is gone?)

I think its common practice that XML-RPC is implemented as in OGo/SOPE, 
that is, only use valid XML (eg no binary data in strings), use the XML 
charset markers and allow any Unicode value as a string value.
