OK, you discovered some bugs ;-)

a) Logic/LSFoundation couldn't properly deal with plain NSDate objects 
as passed
   in by the XML-RPC layer
b) Logic/LSProject did not properly check for incorrect dates being 
passed in
c) XmlRpcAPI/Daemon tried to map parameters using the wrong map 
(treated input as
   contact data, not as projects)

All fixed in CVS and your test should work, I added a similiar one in 
XmlRpcAPI/Daemon/tests.
