Re: problem: non-ascii data and xmlrpmlib.py: msg#00023cms.opengroupware.xmlrpc.devel
Dr. Martin Korff wrote: My problem seems to be in the 'xmlrpclib.py' library: I don't think so. See my script 'test.py' below. Effectively it reads a specific entry... problems with umlauts ... the repr. of which cannot be interpreted as Ascii-chars. Yup. Funny, but I believe that the very same situation should arise in the German language context on letters like ä, ö, and ü (umlaute). It does, I remember the issue. I think the solution is to set the "encoding" from "ascii" to "utf-8" in /usr/lib/pythonXXX/site.py. BTW: I wonder whether the xmlrpc lib coming with Python 2.3 is finally able to authenticate using HTTP? regards, Helge -- OpenGroupware.org XML-RPC xmlrpc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://mail.opengroupware.org/mailman/listinfo/xmlrpc
