FYI: An internal difference is that the qualifier class used by the 
appointment datasource is a subclass of EOQualifier with fixed 
attributes. So the appointment qualifier doesn't allow for arbitary 
qualifier expressions.

Which is to be considered a bug, please make a bug report.
