Subject: opengroupware-xmlrpcd-1.0-ogo006 should work? How?

Hi,

In order to use opengroupware, for me, it is essential to be able to migrate an already existing
database (based on phpgroupware, by the way) with more than a thousand entries.

Conceptually this could be handled using the xml-rpc interface, I imagined.
However, based on the precompiled RPMS available today, I simply wasn't able
to make even the sample scripts (e.g. createCVS.py, importExample.py, etc.) work.

Now, based on the previous hints from this mailing list, I tried
(after setting the env with: source ~opengroupware/OpenGroupware.org.sh):
/opt/skyrix/system/Tools/ix86/linux-gnu/gnu-fd-nil/xmlrpc_call http://127.0.0.1:20000 bc 1 2
/opt/skyrix/system/Tools/ix86/linux-gnu/gnu-fd-nil/xmlrpc_call http://127.0.0.1:20000/RPC2 bc 1 2

(and several other combinations). But always the result is HTML, and a parsing error message:
Exception caught
Name : XmlRpcCallFailed
Reason: got malformed XML-RPC response ?!

So here is my question:
Should xmlrpc work 'out of the box' using ALL the precompiled RPMS, including the following below,
do I have to make some configuration adjustments, or would you recommend waiting (for an
improved set of packages)? Did somebody suceed already? Any suggestions?

Regards, Martin

Hi,

OGo directly doesn't handle XML-RPC calls, you need the xmlrpcd
(which is contained in XmlRpcAPI in the CVS) for that one.
No packages yet, workin' on it - for now you can build it by
using the source.
