Choosing A Webhost:
A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to provide their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. Web hosts can also provide data center space and connectivity to the Internet for servers they do not own to be located in their data center, called colocation. more...

FYI, I plan on doing a significant amount of work on an XWT frontend to Ogo, with the goal of making a *complete* Outlook clone. Discussion will be taking place (initially) on the xwt-users mailing list. Theoretically the existing XML-RPC daemon can be the *complete* xwt backend, though additionally functionality will be added there as needed.

I look forward to it !

Please subscribe the xmlrpc@ list to get help on that topic. Actually I would like to get working a new, better XML-RPC API than what we have today with the XML-RPC daemon.
The daemons contained in SandStorm already have a much improved API, but I would still prefer something based on ZideStore which is more and more becoming a general infrastructure daemon, already speaking WebDAV, WCAP and iCalendar.
Also ZideStore supports "pluggable" protocols and operations, unlike the current XML-RPC daemon which is monolithic.

So maybe you should just tell us what operations you need, and we'll see how we add that to ZideStore ?

Helge

I have subscribed to the XML-RPC list, and asked some question here earlier today about documentation for the XML-RPC methods as well as a few other things. I see the list of methods, but no documentation on what the parameters to those methods mean(if you respond to that, please respond on the XML-RPC list). Looking at the list of methods, it looks reasonably complete (at least enough to keep me busy for a while). I would be interested in your thoughts on what a better XML-RPC api would look like, and what benefits you see in the pluggable approach in respect to XML-RPC.

In answer to your specific question, the operations supported by xmlrpcd look like they are a relatively close match to my ultimate needs, though I don't have enough knowledge of the breadth of Ogo's features to know how complete they are yet. I certainly wouldn't mind moving those into ZideStore, but I'm completely unqualified to assess the pros and cons of that yet. I'll certainly let you know what I find as I move forward.

Thanks
