Re: unix/database user/server.ini: msg#00111cms.documentum.user
Kevin I can't think of any reason why it would 'impair' the docbase. I routinely run Windows docbases without an OS account for the docbase owner. True it gives me a less frightening message about needing it for replication services (not true anymore BTW). ____________________________________________________________ Robin East Xense - Documentum Performance Tuning http://www.xense.co.uk --- In documentum-users-hHKSG33TihhbjbujkaE4pw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "syeandel" <kevin@xxxx> wrote: > Yes but, as said in my original message, I KNOW "how" to fix but I > want to know the "WHY" - emphasis on the words "severly impair" as > per the warning generated by the docbase log. > > JFI, there is no user by the given name (referenced in the > server.ini's) to add to the domain on this Unix system. > > Thanks > Kevin > > > > interested to know how the docbase can be severely impaired - as > the > > > message claims > > > --- In documentum-users-hHKSG33TihhbjbujkaE4pw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, lpn@xxxx > wrote: > > Just add the user to the domain and restart your docbase. > > > > > > > Hi > > > > > > I've inherited about 20 docbases and noticed in the tops of the > logs > > > the following message can be found. > > > > > > Fri Jul 29 12:15:54 2005[DM_STARTUP_W_DOCBASE_OWNER_NOT_FOUND] *** > > > warning *** : The database user, xxxdocd22 as specified by > > > your server.ini is not a valid user as determined using the system > > > password check api.
