Keeping formatting information together

I am having a problem keeping my line returns and paragraphs in place when 
I enter data into an Access database.

Is there a way that I can encode the <INPUT> or <CFINPUT> tags to keep the 
above information for display.

Example:

Text Header
* text bullet
* text bullet

this comes out as

Text Header * text bullet * text bullet
