Re: [BlueXML-user] Open Blue Lab install: msg#00006

Subject: Re: [BlueXML-user] Open Blue Lab install
Eric,
Install dir is the dir where you installed Open Blue Lab, not eXist.

You don't have to create a /db collection in Exist. It's the default collection in which you are when you log in.

The data to import is not the one stored in openbluelab/.../. They are old data. I will update this afternoon the right data to import.

Paths you put in conf.xml must exist. If it's not the case you have to adapt them. For example, I think in conf.xml you have /opt/www/openbluelab/dev/bluexml/data. If you are under windows, bluexml does not exist because it is a symbolic link. Then, you have to change bluexml in cms.

Send me your conf.xml file, I will have a look at it.

Thanks,
we follow the tutorial but we've got some problems with the installation & configuration :

*Install Dir*
- We replace all the "/opt/www/openbluelab/dev" with our install directory (here : "/opt/local/openbluelab/OpenBlueLab-1.0.1/" )
So we have things like this :
<rsh_root>
       <name>rsh_root</name>
       <description>Restricted shell directory</description>
       <value>/opt/local/openbluelab/OpenBlueLab-1.0.1/bluexml/rsh</value>
   </rsh_root>
(each time the "/opt/www/openbluelab/dev" appear we change it).

Is the correct directory? (or do we have to use the eXist directory?)

*Database*
We create a database in eXist :
- First by creating a new collection name "db", a second in this one name "openbluelab" and a final one in this one name www.openbluelab.org. We import data (but it's not specify which file to use so we use the __content__.xml file locate in "openbluelab/populate/exist/db/bluexml/www.bluexml.org". Is the right file? We also try with the same file locate in "openbluelab/populate/exist/db/bluexml" but with the same result.

When we go to http://www.lan.openbluelab.org:8888/content/ (after change the hosts file, starting eXist and openbluelab) we've got a blank page.

Note : in the tutorial some errors :
run.sh cocoon 8888 : This command doesn't work on linux. We use sh run.sh
In import data : www.lan.openbluelab.og

Thanks

Eric

Yes, eXist is running (127.0.0.1:8080) and the JDK is the 1.5 version.
The run.sh (in bin directory) start but at the 127.0.0.1:8888 adress we have nothing. Only a blank page.

We try to launch build.sh (in openbluelab directory) but we've got this message :
/tools/bin/ant -logger org.apache.tools.ant.NoBannerLogger -emacs
build.sh: tools/bin/ant: /bin/sh^M: bad interpreter: Aucun fichier ou répertoire de ce type/ Is there anything else to do to launch Open Blue Lab?

Thanks

Hello,
have you installed the last eXist snapshot and the last jdk1.5 ?

They are required for OBL to work.

Hello, we've got some issue with the Open Blue Lab install.

When opening the OpenBlueLab-1.0.1.tgz we have an issue to install it.
We untar the archive but we don't know where start the install. We found a readme file in the openbluelab directory but we can't find the bluexml-installer.jar in the untar archive.

We also tried to start directly by running the run.sh file in the openbluelab/bin directory, all seems to be good but in our webbrowser we have a blank page at 127.0.0.1:8888. After a ctrl+c the process aren't stopped.

Thanks

Eric
