Comment #2 on issue 19607 by phajdan...@xxxxxxxxxxxx: important_file_writer
fails for UNC paths with "could not create temporary file"
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=19607
I just tested Chromium 4.0.287.0 (35423) and couldn't reproduce the
problem. I always get the following messages in the logs:
[1860:1432:19659593:INFO:important_file_writer.cc(70)] successfully saved
\\ph\testdir\Local State
[1860:1432:19659828:INFO:important_file_writer.cc(70)] successfully saved
\\ph\testdir\Default\Preferences
What exactly I did:
1. Created local share C:\testdir visible as \\ph\testdir
2. Launched chrome.exe --user-data-dir=\\ph\testdir --enable-logging
--log-level=0
Please note that I did not launch chrome.exe itself off the network share.
Could you provide detailed steps to reproduce and necessary configuration
details? Is the problem always reproducible? Does it depend
on share configuration/permissions? Does the problem disappear when you
launch chrome.exe from a local disk? Does the share need to
be on a different machine for the problem to appear?
