When I go for > measurements I get extensions, arrows, etc. but no numbers (text)? In my case, I have to go for <Edit> -> <Drawing Preferences> -> <Measurement (or the like)>. There I choose "proportional" and change the text size like I want it to be. Atferwards it works at my QCAD. The background is that the text size is set in mm and my drawing is in meters. So there was a measurementtext, but so little that I could ot see it. You have to adjust the mesurement unit to the unit in which you are drawing. I hope it was at least a bit clear what I mean.
