I do had this problem too.

In my case, ich choose in the print preview the scale factor I want.
Then it seems as if there is no paper left (the little white box is
gone away). Afterwards I make the preview as little as possilble. Then
I can see a very tiny white point (the print preview page) and a very
tiny black point (my drawing). Now I try to put the two points as
close as possible (withe the litte hand fonction) and zoom the way,
that both points are visibly. That I do so long until I can see the
print preview page and my drawing together. So I can print in the
scale factor I want. So it works.

I can't say it too often: sorry for my bad english.
