Well, the only one I have played around with is roundup-server and it seems faster than that, although I haven't actually tested it. So take that with a grain of salt.

OTOH, I would have to guess that it would be faster than cgi since cgi has to reload python on every request. mod_python keeps the python interpretor in memory. Once again, not tested, so also take with a grain of salt.
