A Fake GRUB Stage1 bug

Hi,
I am Gaurav Kumar working as Member(Research Staff)
CRL-Bharat Electronics Limited(Ministry of Defence),
India.
When intsalling WinXP on a preloaded Linux system it
overwrite the MBR. So, for restoring Grub loader on
giveing following commond 
#gurb-install /dev/hda
I got the output
Grub Stage1 file is corrupted....
(so what like this)
I thought grub stage1 file is corrupted but the actual
reason was different. Actually some Virus changed the
partion type from ext3 to Ameoba. So after restoring
back to ext3 I got wotking grub-install.
So, if possible kindly rephrase the error so to
indicate this kind of change.
(I have taken the source I will check and try to
update)
