hpt37x controller does not work anymore - approved for 0.97: msg#00036boot-loaders.grub.bugs
Hi again, I just re-checked if this bug* is in 0.97. Yes, it is :-( Here are the steps, I did to reproduce the behavior: - installed grub 0.97 into /opt/grub - booted a live cd with my (only) HDD connected to the HPT372 chip - mounted & chrooted my HDD, executed /opt/grub/sbin/grub and on the shell: root (hd0,0) setup (hd0) => no errors so far, then the reboot and: error 21 :-( And the reverse check, that the error is really caused by the HPT chip: - I replugged the HDD back onto the VIA chipset - booted a live cd, mounted & chrooted my HDD, executed grub and on the shell: root (hd0,0) setup (hd0) => no errors, then the reboot: works fine. Bye. Thorsten * = I reported this bug on april, 26, please have a look in the attachment. --- Begin Message ---_______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@xxxxxxx http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub |
