Choosing A Webhost:
A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to provide their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. Web hosts can also provide data center space and connectivity to the Internet for servers they do not own to be located in their data center, called colocation. more...

Subject: Re: Status of PostgreSQL port of cddbd

Does multiple *nix count as cross-platform?

So far, I have only compiled it on Linux. It should not be strongly
dependent on which Unix architecture you use, but this is untested. I
would like to add autoconf, automake, and friends. This should help
the Unix ports, and perhaps Windows as well.

This code is only an update for the server cddbd, and thus doesn't
have a graphical interface. It requires new clients to fully take
advantage of some of its changes, but it should work well with current
clients.

It uses STL, but not boost or wxWindows. Some of boost may be a good
idea. In many cases, I continue to use the C constructs originally
used in cddbd, though the code would be written differently if it were
in C++ from the beginning. There are a few places which could use
SQL, but don't for partly historical reasons. The data itself is in
SQL, of course. Some of this will change over time, if the release is
successful.

Some code needs to be refactored. I'm not happy with the C++
PostgreSQL library, and haven't used it, though I have heard that it
has recently improved. There are many improvements to be made. I
could make an unpaid career out of this for the future.
