Subject: [eac] Breaking wav's

I recently received a couple of discs that for some reason EAC would
not copy. I kept receiving an error message about autodetection and
going through the different formats never resolved my problem of not
being able to extract the disc. Anyway, that isn't really my problem.

Since the discs played normally, I used a stand alone burner to make a
copy, but rather than manually add the track indexes, I allowed the
copy to be burned as one long wav track. A lot of songs with no
individual indexes, just one long track.

I have now ripped a copy of the long wav file, but am uncertain how to
correctly insert new index marks to create individual tracks. I did
go into "edit cue sheet" and manually type in "INDEX 02" and the
correct times and "INDEX 03" and so on and then saved that. When I
loaded the new cue sheet, I got an entry in the CD Layout box that
showed only Track one, but with all of the new indexes. It only
showed Track one. There was information where "Track Two" should be,
but the area under "title" was blank. On the Graphical Layout bar I
could see that index bars (the blue lines) had been inserted.

But still I am uncertain if this is the correct proceedure and since
I've already used EAC to make enough coasters to carry me into the
next millenium, I am going to see if someone can/will help me to use
the proper way of "cracking" my long wav file into individual tracks.

So, can someone please explain it to me?

Thank you all for your time.
