Schönen Dank für eure Hilfe!
Konnte dann den File Viewer laden und installieren. Über diesen gelang
mir allerdings nicht das Laden der Fotos.
Der Hinweis auf "Digitale Bilder" brachte dann den Druchbruch. An
dieses Programm hatte ich absolut nicht gedacht. Es ließ das Laden der
Bilder anstandslos zu.
iPhoto, das laut Apple die PowerShot G3 unterstützen soll, startet
jedesmal nebenei, dreht eine Ewigkeit das Rädchen und kann nur mehr mit
ForceQuit beendet werden.
Dank an alle, die mir so schnell geholfen haben :-)
