I was having some problems that seemed to trace to a glitch in dpkg,
so I did a "fink rebuild dpkg" (except via Fink Commander):
The following package will be rebuilt:

...many lines skipped...
...
dpkg -i

It is not clear to me the *best* way to repair whatever caused this.
Suggestions?
