Choosing A Webhost:
A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to provide their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. The configuration classes do environment variable substitution, thus you
can use $HOME or something else. I don't recall if it uses platform
specific conventions ($HOME, %HOME%), just Unix conventions ($HOME), or
whether you can/must use delimiters ($(HOME), ${HOME}). There is some
method called "subst" or something that does it, buried in there
somewhere.

Cheers!

What is the preferred way of setting the directory in which logfiles are
stored? I'd like to have in my configuration file only the basename of
the logfile, the directory should be determined by the application,
depending on the user context (e.g. $HOME/logs on Unixen or
%USERPROFILE%\somewhere).

Is there another way than dynamically changing the working directory
of my application? What if I'd like to spread several logfiles to
different directories?

Regards, Peter
