Solaris Build Revisited: msg#00037apache.logging.log4cxx.user
Hi again, After studying autoconf, automake, libtool & m4, I can now build log4cxx on Solaris properly and with the latest versions. Basically, anyone building log4cxx on Solaris should be aware of the following two issues: 1. Sometimes the file libtool.m4 is not installed into the location where aclocal expects all the macro files to be. Invoking "aclocal --print-ac-dir" shows where it should be, and copying it manually there should solve this problem. 2. m4 1.4.1 has a bug manifesting on Solaris, which causes it to stop on processing AC_PROG_LIBTOOL. The only solution is to upgrade to version 1.4.2 (ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/m4/m4-1.4.2.tar.gz) Hope this helps, Barak ________________________ Barak Simon GED IT Core Platform Deutsche Bank 190 George St. Sydney, 2000 Phone +61 2 925 85070 Fax +61 2 925 95050 -- This e-mail may contain confidential and/or privileged information.
