Solution, as unintuitive as it may be, is specifying `ProxyFCGIBackendType
GENERIC`.

I guess the follow-up question is, if I'd want to have `ProxyFCGIBackendType`
kept as the default `FPM`, what other configuration directives do I then have
to adjust?
