Re: Draft board report for October 2018

Hey Michael,

Thanks for preparing the board report, it looks great! For Avatica Go, 3.1.0 was released in early September and 3.2.0 was the bug fix release.

Will do. Thanks Julian! Hope ApacheCon went well. I was sad not to be able
to make it but it's good to hear that Calcite was well-represented :)

Thanks Michael.

Can you add the following to activity:

Julian Hyde attended ApacheCon on Montreal and gave two talks about
Calcite. One of these talks was part of the day-long Geospatial track
sponsored by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), and triggered some good
interactions with other Apache projects that are doing Geospatial work;
there seems to be growing momentum for these projects to increase
involvement with the OGC.

Avatica is a sub-project within Calcite and provides a framework
for building local and remote JDBC and ODBC database drivers. Avatica has
an independent release schedule and its own repository.
