Alex Hagerman created ARROW-2601:

                 Key: ARROW-2601
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-2601
             Project: Apache Arrow
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 0.9.0
            Reporter: Alex Hagerman

>>> import pyarrow as pa

>>> mp = pa.MemoryPool()
>>> arr = pa.array([1,2,3], memory_pool=mp)
>>> mp.bytes_allocated()

Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I'll dig into this further, but should bytes_alloacted be returning anything when called like this? Or should it raise NotImplemented?
