From the it's a good day to be the Eclipse Foundation dept:
Today, Wind River demonstrated their commitment to open standards by donating a large chunk of code derived from the latest version of the company’s commercial, Eclipse-based device software development suite, Wind River® Workbench 2.5, which was also released today.
The contribution should help make the restrictions associated with closed, proprietary developer tools a thing of the past. With this contribution, the Eclipse Foundation continues to grow in power, influence, and prestige. I'm sure IBM is totally stoked about the success of the Eclipse project, but does this have any implications for the community, other than a kick-ass IDE?
